Enhanced risk for a few severe thunderstorms later today across western central and southern Oklahoma. Primary hazards will be very large hail, damaging winds in excess of 70 mph and a few tornadoes especially out west.

Timing: 4p Wednesday- 3a Thursday.

Remember it’s now May in Oklahoma so please take any risk seriously! Stay weather aware!

Severe T'Storm Watch until 4am generally near and west of HWY 81.

Still watching some slow-moving storms out to the west that will impact our area later on tonight. These will likely approach areas near I-35 after about 1 am through sunrise on Thursday. Overall, storms should weaken through the night the farther east they get. However, 60-70 mph gusts, quarter sized hail and heavy downpours which could lead to areas of flash flooding will be possible through the night. The tornado threat is very low for the rest of the night.

More severe weather possible, if not likely especially across SW OK into NW TX after 3p - the late evening and overnight. Primary hazards: Baseball hail, gusts up to 80 and a few tornadoes.
