Breastcancer.org

Breastcancer.org Founded in 2000, Breastcancer.org is the leading online resource for breast cancer and breast health information.

Breastcancer.org is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing the most reliable, complete, and up-to-date information about breast cancer. One Breastcancer.org visitor shares her thoughts:

Your website became my ‘go to’ place for information every step of the way. I quickly learned that in order to discuss my diagnosis and treatment with my doctors, I had to learn the vocabulary of breast c

ancer. Your website provided me with the crash course I needed to understand what the doctors were telling me and to ask the necessary questions. The website is so well organized and easy to use and offers such a comprehensive range of information. I have recommended your website to other breast cancer patients and will continue to do so. I stay informed on breast cancer issues through your newsletters and your on-line broadcasts. I’d like to thank everyone at breastcancer.org for the work you do in support of breast cancer patients like me.

In our latest breastcancer.org podcast episode, we sit down with two leaders in the field. They dive into the science behind how these GLP-1 medicines might help reduce the risk of lymphedema by targeting inflammation and metabolic pathways.

“There are so many people for whom cancer is part of their life, and I get it; you just want to move on and put it in the past or park it to the side. But check-ups are incredibly important. It can be daunting and triggering, but please be mindful of just how vital they are — and reach out for help if you need it. You’re not alone.” —

In her new Netflix documentary, Moingue opens up about being diagnosed with breast cancer at age 36 in 2005, as well as a second cancer diagnosis in 2021 that she chose to keep private until now.

Minogue shared that she was diagnosed after a routine check-up and hopes her story serves as “a gentle reminder” about the importance of staying on top of screenings and follow-up care.

We appreciate her decision to speak openly about her experience and help raise awareness about the importance of early detection, routine screenings, and check-ups.

How are you navigating life after diagnosis? Every experience is different, and there is no right or wrong way to move through it. No matter where you are in your journey, you are not alone. 💜

“I was extremely angry that no one had mentioned that 15% of invasive lobular metastasis occurs in the abdomen — or that invasive lobular metastasis, especially in the abdomen, might not show up in a PET scan.”

Years after treatment for ER-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer, Ann’s worsening gastrointestinal symptoms led to the discovery of recurrent breast cancer in her abdomen during a trip to the ER.

Through Breastcancer.org’s invasive lobular breast cancer community, Ann found others who understood what she was going through.

Read more of Ann’s story and what she wishes she had known about lobular breast cancer before her recurrence.
