Today is International Firefighters Day, and it’s a good reminder to pause and say thank you.👨🏻‍🚒

To the firefighters of Argos Fire Territory and beyond—you show up, stay ready, and take care of people when they need it most. Whether it’s a call in the middle of the night or a helping hand in the community, your work doesn’t go unnoticed.

🚂🚨 Have you heard? Oh… you have? Shocking. 😅

YES… Union Pacific Big Boy 4014 is officially coming through Argos on June 5, 2026. In case you somehow missed the 4,017 posts, screenshots, and “have you heard?!” conversations already happening… here’s your PSA.

The world’s largest operating steam locomotive is scheduled to roll through town with an estimated Argos arrival around 2:15 PM on June 5, and yes — it’s a pretty big deal.

Now for the important part: we know everyone has questions, and trust us… so do we. At this point, logistics, traffic flow, parking, road closures, and where exactly to stand without becoming part of railroad history are still being figured out.

So for now:
🚂 Yes, the train is coming
🚗 Yes, town will likely be very busy
⏰ Yes, you should probably plan ahead
🤷 No, we do not yet know every detail

Please be patient as more official information becomes available. We promise updates will come as soon as possible — and despite rumors, we are not personally conducting the locomotive.

Until then, keep the excitement rolling—because this doesn’t happen often, and Argos gets to be right in the middle of something very special.

🚰 Hydrant Flushing Underway🚰

The Town of Argos will be conducting routine hydrant flushing in the coming days. This important maintenance helps keep our water system clean and operating at its best.

During this time, residents may notice temporary discoloration or a slight drop in water pressure. If discoloration occurs, simply run cold water for a few minutes until it clears.

We appreciate your patience as we work to maintain safe and reliable water service for our community!
