Ransom Stiles House, Argyle NY Abolitionist, town supervisor and prominent citizen Ransom Stiles' home is a beautiful example of Federal-style architecture on Main Street in Argyle, NY.

The Ransom Stiles House Restoration Committee is a non-profit whose passion & purpose is to preserve this historic property for use as a community center for Argyle. The rich history, connection to our town's heritage and unique architectural details are worth preserving. Our group's passion is to preserve the Stiles House for future generations as a historical, cultural and community center. All restoration projects are fully funded by donations and fundraising by this group.

Today, the New York State Education Department joined NY State Parks & Historic Sites, the 250th Knox Regional Commemoration, and partners from the NYS 250th Commission at Peebles Island State Park to commemorate the 250th anniversary of Henry Knox’s Noble Train of Artillery.

As part of this historic celebration, students from WSWHE BOCES built a stunning replica sled, echoing the ingenuity and perseverance of Henry Knox’s 1775 journey.
