πŸ’¦πŸš’ WATER WARS 2026! πŸš’πŸ’¦

What would summer be without getting a little wet?

On June 20th, the Argyle Fire District is heading to Saw Mill Court to find out who's going to win the ultimate Water Wars battle... the firefighters or the kids? 😎

Our plan is simple: drive through the neighborhood and soak anyone who wants the "smoke" (AKA WATER πŸ’¦)!

If you plan to participate, grab your:
πŸ”« Water guns
πŸ’§ Water balloons
🚿 Water hoses
πŸ˜„ And your best game face!

Be prepared to get soaked and have some summer fun with your local firefighters. We can't wait to see everyone out there!

Search and Rescue Training

Last night, members trained on search and rescue operations, focusing on locating and removing victims from a structure during fire conditions.

Crews practiced finding patients, packaging them for removal, and moving them to the nearest safe exit. Patients were then extricated through windows and doorways using techniques designed to provide a rapid and safe removal from the hazard area.

Members also emphasized keeping patients as low to the floor as possible during movement to help reduce further exposure to heat, smoke, and toxic gases that accumulate higher in a structure during a fire.

Training like this helps ensure our firefighters are prepared to quickly locate, protect, and remove occupants when seconds matter most.

πŸš’ Training today prepares us for emergencies tomorrow.

πŸš’ Multi-Company Training πŸš’

Crews from Argyle Fire District and Liberty Fire District recently came together for a joint training exercise focused on dump tank operations and drafting water.

Members utilized two tankers and an engine to establish a continuous water supply, setting up a portable dump tank and drafting operation while maintaining a flowing water stream.

Many residents may wonder why fire departments draft water. In rural areas where fire hydrants are limited or unavailable, firefighters must create their own reliable water source. Tankers shuttle water to the scene, where it is dumped into portable tanks. Engines then draft (pull) water from these tanks using their pumps, allowing crews to maintain a steady water supply for firefighting operations.

Training like this is critical to ensuring firefighters can quickly and efficiently establish water supplies during structure fires and other emergencies in areas without hydrant systems.

A big thank you to all personnel who participated and helped make this training a success. Working together strengthens our ability to serve and protect our communities.

Tuesday’s training focused on the use of a 2.5-inch attack hose line. This larger diameter hose is commonly used for defensive operations and large-volume fire attacks where increased water flow is needed. Crews practiced deploying the line, advancing it into position, and operating it effectively while flowing water. The training emphasized teamwork, hose handling, and maintaining control of the line under pressure.
