* Until 1045 AM EST

* At 951 AM EST, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from Wiscoal to Ice Cliff to Krupp, moving southeast at
40 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Harlan, Pineville, Middlesboro, Cumberland, Loyall, Evarts, Wallins

IMPORTANT UPDATE FROM KENTUCKY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-

WARNING: Kentucky Emergency Management, along with your local utility provider, would like to share this important message:

Due to increased wind activities forecast for Friday and the weekend, we are monitoring the for their potential impact on high voltage transmission lines and substations. If a fire threatens these systems, we will work with the utility companies to shut down these systems for safety reasons.

These shutdowns will be short- to no-notice events. Fires on transmission lines and substations can lead to life safety issues for the first responders and cause additional fires due to transformer overloads.

Facilities and households need to review their emergency plans, test generators, and prepare for possible power outages. This is especially of concern this weekend with evening temperatures dropping into the mid-20s on Saturday and Sunday. Please help us inform your friends, families and neighbors by sharing this message.

News Update

"Debbie Caldwell | Daily News A two-vehicle crash on U.S. 25E sent three people to the hospital with injuries on Monday. According to Middlesboro Police Department Officer Chuck Bruce, a Subaru was attempting to cross the northbound lanes of U.S. 25E when it made contact with a 2002 Saturn traveling north on U.S. 25E. The Subaru came to rest on top of the Saturn. A male and female in the Subaru and a female in the Saturn were transported to Middlesboro ARH Hospital by Middlesboro EMS to be treated for their injuries. Bruce said all the occupants were wearing seat belts. The names of those involved were not available. Bruce was assisted at the scene by MPD Chief Jeff Sharpe, Lt. David Buis, Sgt. Eddie Myers, officers Michael Smith and Michael Bradley, KSP Trooper Jason Young, CVE Officer Andrew Teaney and the Bell County Rescue Squad."
