BIG NEWS for rural health care in Cowley County! 🎉

SCK Health is proud to announce that we have been awarded $2,378,188 through the Kansas Rural Health Transformation Program to continue strengthening health care services for our communities.

These funds will support the continued transformation of Kansas’ first Rural Emergency Hospital, helping expand behavioral health crisis capabilities, retain important diagnostic and surgical services, and further enhance outpatient care for the future of rural health care.

This investment is a huge win for SCK Health, our patients, and the future health and wellness of Cowley County. 💙

SCK Health is excited to support Arkansas City High School and Middle School athletics with a one-stop shop to get sports ready! 🏈⚽🏀📣

Don’t wait until the end of summer — get those sports physicals checked off early so you can relax, enjoy the sunshine, and head into the school year ready to compete!

SCK Health will be offering sports physicals for Arkansas City Middle School and Arkansas City High School students on:
📅 June 1, 3 & 5
🕛 Noon–4 p.m.
📍 SCK Health Urgent Care (enter through the Urgent Care doors)

💲 Cost: $20 (cash or check only)
✔️ Checks payable to SCK Health
🫀 Optional parent-requested EKG available for an additional $10

Physical packets are available at ACMS, ACHS, or on-site. Packets must be completed and signed before the physical.

Also coming soon: ACHS and ACMS athletics will begin using a new registration platform called Bound for the 2026-27 school year. QR codes and registration links will be shared soon.

May is National Stroke Awareness Month, and at SCK Health we want to remind our community how important it is to recognize the signs of a stroke and act quickly—because every second matters.

Use the F.A.S.T. acronym to spot a possible stroke:

F – Face drooping: Is one side of the face uneven or numb?
A – Arm weakness: Can the person raise both arms, or does one drift downward?
S – Speech difficulty: Is speech slurred or hard to understand?
T – Time to call 911: If you notice any of these signs, call emergency services immediately.

Other symptoms may include sudden confusion, trouble seeing, dizziness, loss of balance, or a severe headache with no known cause.

Stroke is a medical emergency. Quick action can save a life and reduce long-term disability.
