The Reading Fire Department mou​​rns the loss of retired Chief Kevin Kaiser today. A lifelong Reading resident and Moeller High School graduate, Kevin began his fire service career as an Explorer in 1975. He became a Paid-On-Call member in 1978 and was hired full-time in 1979. Progressing through the ranks, he ultimately became Chief in 2000. Kevin served on various regional and state committees and associations, including as President of the Hamilton County Fire Chiefs’ Association, an investigator with the Specialized County Arson Task Force, and Vice-Chair of the Executive Committee for the Hamilton County Emergency Management Agency, among many other affiliations. He retired in 2014 after 36 years of dedicated service. Chief Kaiser was respected for his leadership, ingenuity, and unwavering dedication to the department and community. Rest easy, Chief. The Reading community will always remember your service.

We are hosting a tire recycling event on Saturday July 25th from 11am-3pm at Town Hall at 601 Elliott Ave. If you have any old tires laying around your property, here is your chance to get rid of them for free.

Just as a reminder. Fireworks are not legal in the Village of Arlington Heights. Anyone caught setting off fireworks in the Village streets or sidewalks will be cited. It is not our service departments responsibility to clean up your mess.

Just a reminder. If you are parked on the 600 Block of Elliott Ave. You will need to move your vehicle from the street tomorrow for the parade. Your vehicle will be towed at your expense if not moved.
