Virginia is replacing SNAP EBT cards with more secure chip-enabled cards this fall, and Arlington recipients can prepare now by updating their address and setting up a ConnectEBT account.

Guardians of incapacitated adults in Virginia, and professionals who support them, must complete the Virginia Guardian Training from the Virginia Department of Aging and Rehabilitative Services (DARS). This free, 60-minute online training explains a guardian's responsibilities and offers guidance on communicating on behalf of the person you serve.

The training is available in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Arabic, Chinese, and Korean.

Big news! Virginia is transitioning to more secure SNAP EBT chip cards to better protect your benefits from theft and skimming. 🔒

To make sure your new card reaches you, verify your mailing address on CommonHelp.virginia.gov or at your local department of social services by September 9.

Your balance will transfer automatically once you activate the new card. Current cards expire 60 days after your new card is mailed.
