Cat of the Week – Meet Harrah 🐾🐾🐾🐾
Harrah is our chosen cat of the week. This two year old female is a lynx point Siamese. Step up and place your bets on this beautiful cat, Harrah. She is very affectionate and is willing to remind you that she likes to be the center of attention. She will mesmerize you with her blue eyes. Siamese cats are known for being vocal and talkative so you can expect to spend time trying to figure out what she wants. Harrah shows her curious nature as she loves to explore and likes chasing toys. Say "hurray" for Harrah and adopt her as your new furry companion. Your devotion and attention to her will be rewarded. Harrah is in Cat Holding (CH) 7, and her ID number is 45533889. Call 817-575-8128, or 817-575-8129 and provide Harrah's ID number to schedule an appointment to meet. Currently, pet adoptions are being handled by appointment only.

Dog of the Week - Meet Virginia 🐾🐾🐾🐾
Virginia is our chosen dog of the week. This eleven month old female pit bull terrier mix is brown and white in color and weighs 37 pounds. Entering the cooler days of September is a good time to adopt a dog to accompany you on leisurely autumn walks. Virginia would be a good choice as she walks well on a leash and loves physical activity. She is a playful dog with a high activity level. Ready to please, she knows the command of sit and seems to be easy to handle. An active family with the opportunity to share physical activities with this furry choice would be a good match. "Virginia", as this dog would say, "is for lovers"--lovers of canine companionship. Virginia is in Dog Adoptions (DA) 3, and her ID number is 45500623. Call 817-575-8128, or 817-575-8129 and provide Virginia’s ID number to schedule an appointment to meet. Currently, pet adoptions are being handled by appointment only.

It's not often we get to say that one of our Facebook posts truly "sparkles" off the screen. But when your #FureverFriday pup has the COOLEST name of any dog we've ever featured, well -- your post better have some sparkle!! 😎

This is Officer Dylan Anders, who works with our HEAT and Foot Patrol teams down on the south end of town. And he'd like to introduce you to his pal, Mr. Cool!! (Told ya -- coolest name EVER!!)

Mr. Cool is a 5-year-old Chihuahua mix. He is very calm, even a bit shy when he first meets you. But let him rock his favorite silver sparkle top hat -- and you'll see why his name suits him perfectly!!

Mr. Cool is heartworm positive, so he'll need a family who can help him manage that. The good news -- his heartworm treatments have been sponsored by an outside organization, so you won't have to fork out extra cash for them. And his adoption fees are ONLY $25!!

If you'd like to give Mr. Cool a "furever" home, you can visit him at City of Arlington, TX - Animal Services, which is located at 1000 SE Green Oaks Blvd.

Because of temporary restrictions in place at the shelter, you must make an appointment to visit / adopt a pet. You can do that by calling (817) 575-8128.

Be sure to give shelter staff Mr. Cool's ID number when you call: 45429866

Pets of the Week – Meet Ren & Virgil
🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾
Cat of the Week – Meet Ren
This two-year-old male Domestic Shorthair is a red and white Tabby. Have you been searching for a fun, friendly, fabulous feline to adopt? How about checking out Ren? While most cats would probably balk at the idea of being dressed up for photos, this fella didn't seem to mind since he was the center of attention. HIs adventurous side allows him to be curious about his environment and his hunting tendencies come through with his playfulness with toys. Ren is patiently waiting to be adopted so he can start training you to cater to his whims. In return, he will probably be willing to be a lap cat. He probably would be OK if he doesn't have to dress up again! Ren is in Cat Adoptions (CA) 5, and his ID number is 45403121. Call 817-575-8128, or 817-575-8129 and provide Ren’s ID number to schedule an appointment to meet. Currently, pet adoptions are being handled by appointment only.
🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾
Dog of the Week – Meet Virgil
This three-year-old male Pit Bull Terrier mix is solid black in color and weighs 78 pounds. While the greatest Roman poet, Virgil, was noted for penning the "Aeneid", our Virgil would pen, "I ne-yed" a new furever home! This calm and collected canine would love to go home with a new pet guardian. He walks well on a leash, albeit at this own pace. He does show a curiosity about his surroundings, but toys and treats don't seem to pique his interest. Just hanging out seems to work for this guy; however, he could probably benefit from more physical activities. Virgil is eager to find a new owner who can meet his every need and spoil him beyond his wildest dreams. If that sounds like you, come check out Virgil at the shelter. Virgil is in Dog Adoptions (DA) 16, and his ID number is 45403007. Call 817-575-8128, or 817-575-8129 and provide Virgil’s ID number to schedule an appointment to meet. Currently, pet adoptions are being handled by appointment only.

Hi Friends!
My name is Flora! I am one of the newest VIP Adoptable Pets at the shelter. I was found as a stray with my brother and some nice people brought us to the shelter where we would be safe. You have probably already seen my brother, he doesn't look like me but I still call him my brother ;) His name is Mr. Cool and he is featured as this week's Pet of the Week. We are both VIP Pets because we tested positive for heartworms. Heartworms is a treatable disease and any staff member will be happy to help answer questions and provide low cost treatment options that are available in the area. I am a realllllly really sweet girl! If you couldn't already tell that by my smile 😃 And I am ready to meet my new forever family! I would love a home with humans who will always pet my ears, a nice warm bed to sleep on, and treats! I love treats and sit like a perfect lady when asked. I am around 2 years old and weigh 66 pounds. Will you consider adding me to your family? All you need to do is call 817.575.8128 to schedule your adoption appointment to meet me! My animal ID# is 45429844. Since I am a VIP Pet, my adoption fee is $25!

Hi, I was wondering if this is the place to ask if you guys have received a ca?(pictured below). As it is the animal shelter I was also wondering if you guys have any knowledge on law regarding animal abuse. The realtor buying my house said she would take him for a couple weeks while i found a new home for me and the cat. A couple days later I go to get the cat and she will not answer about where it is at. Any guidance is greatly appreciated.
