In the event of snowfall please check the city and police department pages for information on snow emergencies. You can also request to be on the city alert system. Please contact the city office to be added if you have not already been added.

If a snow emergency is declared, you have two hours from the time the snow emergency is declared to move your vehicle from the street. If a vehicle is not moved after two hours a ticket will be issued. If it is not moved after 12 hours the vehicle may be towed.

If it snows, please move your vehicle so the plows can plow curb to curb and keep the streets clear.

With an increase in stolen vehicles and a burglary in the previous months, the Arlington Police Department is reminding everyone to secure your vehicles and property to prevent theft. Take your keys out of your vehicles and lock your vehicles.

If you have a camera system, ensure that it is recording. It is unfortunate that this is where we are but please take the necessary precautions to secure your property.

If you see something suspicious, please report it.

To assist our city snowplows, please move your vehicles off the streets so they can plow the streets ahead of the Arli-Dazzle tomorrow. If you are parked in the Main St parking lot or next to the movie theater, please move your vehicle by 6PM 12/5/2025. These lots will also be used tomorrow morning,12/6/2025, and need to be cleared. This Arlington Police Department responded to the Sibley East Middle/High School regarding a potential safety concern following a student finding a message written in a book.

The Arlington Police Department and the Sibley County Sheriff's Office were involved in the investigation. There was no credible threat made.

It was out of an abundance of caution that the Arlington Police Department and the Sibley County Sheriff's Office have had an active presence at the school. Law enforcement has a daily presence in the schools during various times of the day on any given day.

We appreciate your continued support and partnership in maintaining a safe learning environment for the schools in the City of Arlington.
