Dean was six years old when someone called the sheriff on him at school.

Not because he was dangerous. Because he was drowning, and no one knew how to help him.

His aunt Jennifer saw a kid in pain that everyone else had labeled a problem. She saw a bright child who had never been taught how to learn, only how to sit still. And she knew those weren't the same thing.

When traditional schools gave up on Dean, Jennifer didn't. She took custody, enrolled him in virtual school, and gave him something he'd never had before: control over his own environment.

Earlier this month, Dean graduated with honors distinction.

Yep. It's true.

Last year, we surveyed over 1,000 voters, and the results were resounding.

A whopping 75% of voters support a 50-state school choice initiative.

Legislators, take note: Families are asking for bold education reform and access to options that fit the needs of their children.

Parents know what their children need, and it’s time for policy to reflect that.

When it came time to start high school, Shereese's son went for one day before anxiety took over.

On his second day, he refused to get out of the car.

He didn't have the tools to explain why he was so scared, but Shereese knew that there was no way her son would thrive in a traditional school setting.

That is when she turned to online school.

She is so grateful that she lives in Ohio, where she now able to be the learning coach for both her son and nephew as they attend OHVA.
