Congratulations to SSG Kuchelmeister on his promotion to Sergeant First class! This promotion was absolutely well earned! He currently serves as a National Guard recruiter and our National Guard liaison. He continuously works actions to support our SMP/National Guard Cadets. We are truly proud of him and honored to have him on our team!

A parade of floats, performances and classic cars marched through the Arlington Entertainment District streets Monday to honor community veterans.

Happy Veterans Day from the Maverick Battalion! We spent the day supporting various ceremonies and event across town recognizing the service and sacrifices our veterans make to lay the foundation for our upcoming leaders and ensuring our freedom. Thank you all!

The Maverick Battalion had an eventful weekend. The West Point Ethics seminar was hosted at UTD on Friday. Cadets from West Point and the Maverick Battalion invited JROTC programs and high schools from across the mextroplex to discuss ethical decision making and what it means to be an ethical leader.

Saturday UNT synchronized efforts with Ft Cavazos for a fly over and military support for the UNT Vs Army football game. Congratulations to Army on the win.

Veteran’s Day Appreciation Breakfast hosted by the Veterans Services Department on UTA. The Maverick Battalion color guard came in full force supporting the event along with Cadet Rodrigues serving as the key note speaker.

The week of Veteran’s Day festivities begins. The Maverick Battalion support Southwest Airlines with their Veterans celebration with Color Guard support. Guest speakers for the event were Maj General Edward Evans Jr. and Kim Seale sharing their experiences in what it means to serve and the impacts of “the Ghost Army” in World War 2.

Special congratulations are in order. Mr. Reeves, our battalion supply technician, was awarded the Employee of 4th Quarter for 5th Brigade. We are truly proud and honored to have him on our team developing our Cadets in the realm of logistics and supply, along with his daily dedication to support each battalion operations.

Additional congratulations to our Cadets of Month! Each Cadet participated in a panel board along with an assessment of their participation in special teams, volunteering, and recruiting efforts throughout the month. Cadet Flood (MS3), Cadet De La Garza (MS2), and Cadet Petrowski (MS1) are our winners for October!

Friday the Mavericks Battalion traveled to Fort Cavazos for a branch orientation day. Cadets toured the National Mounted Warrior Museum, had lunch at the post exchange, and spent the afternoon receiving mentorship from a panel of officers across the brigade along with a hands on tour of the motorpool. Cadets gained insight into how the varying MOS’s come together to support the fight and better shape their branching decisions.

Special thanks to 1LT Lane and the 2nd Battalion, 7th Cav Regiment for their support and making a lasting impact on our Cadets.

Over the weekend the Maverick Battalion was honored to be apart of the Special Operations Warrior Foundation Gala. The key note speaker was Jonny Kim, a Navy Seal, Harvard Medical graduate physician, and NASA astronaut. His speech focused around his experiences across his impressive resume and the significance of love/brotherhood.

The Special Operations Warrior Foundation supports Gold Star families with a “cradle to career” for educational support and mentorship.

Today the Maverick Battalion supported our local JROTC programs by serving as judges and mentors for the 2024 Mansfield Drill Competition. JROTC Cadets performed armed and unarmed exhibitions and demonstrations.

This weekend the Maverick Battalion completed the Fall Field Training Exercise at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Cadets conducted day and night training land navigation, EST, hand gr***de assault course, rappeling, team development course, and ruck marches.
