Dear Friends,
I have received an offer for an Executive Director position from Snohomish County Executive Dave Somers. After much prayer and many discussions with my family, I have accepted the offer and will join the Executive Office team in January.
I greatly appreciate Executive Somers' leadership in extending this opportunity to me. This position will allow me to focus on the implementation of policy as a member of a bi-partisan team. I believe that this transition will help to move Snohomish County forward as we grow to become the second largest county in our state.
In order to take this position, I must resign from the Snohomish County Council prior to beginning my new role.
The opportunity to represent the people of North Snohomish County has been a tremendous honor and I am grateful for the many accomplishments that we have worked on together as a community.
I am especially proud of the Stilly Valley Youth Project, the Arlington-Marysville Manufacturing Industrial Center, the increases in grant funding for water management in Stanwood and road projects in Granite Falls.
My current position will be filled by one of three people nominated by the Snohomish County Republican Party. The County Council will make the final decision. I am confident that whoever is chosen to fill the position will continue to build on our successes and I look forward to partnering with them in my new role.
I am humbled by the level of trust and confidence that my family, friends and constituents have placed in me. I can assure you that I will continue to be your advocate for transparency and excellence in County government.
I will continue to be accessible to you and encourage you to reach out to me should you have any issues or concerns.
