CVA to Congress: The American people deserve honest oversight on Afghanistan, not partisan bickering - Concerned Veterans for America

It was incredibly disappointing to see members of both parties on the House Foreign Affairs Committee use an important hearing on Afghanistan to score political points against the current and previous administrations, instead of asking substantive questions.

ARLINGTON, Va.-In response to Monday's House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing on Afghanistan that largely consisted of partisan attacks and ahead of Tuesday's Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing on Afghanistan, Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) Senior Adviser Dan Caldwell issued the follo...

CVA staff reflect on 9/11 20 years later

On this September 11, we remember the lives of all those lost nearly two decades ago. We honor the courage and sacrifice of all those who stepped up in the wake of tragedy to help those around them. We thank those who put on a uniform – yesterday, today, and tomorrow – to bring an end to terror around the world.

Service members killed in Kabul bombing awarded Purple Hearts

Our nation's warfighters have risen to the defense of Americans around the globe time and again, some making the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. It's eternally important that we seek to honor their sacrifices.

The 13 troops were killed Aug. 26 as they were helping to screen Afghans and others at the Abbey Gate of the Kabul airport.

Mace: Stop pointing fingers and start learning lessons from Afghanistan

"We could have saved trillions of dollars and saved thousands of American lives by leaving sooner. Let this be the lesson the next time any interventionist — Democratic or Republican — wants to keep us in a never-ending war to nation-build or wants us to police the world."

We’ve been inundated with shocking images and commentary regarding our exit from Afghanistan. There is plenty of blame to go around, and no shortage of those rushing to TV and

The Afghanistan Withdrawal Is Still the Best Course for the United States

"This mess in Afghanistan is on the shoulders of those who kept us in this war for so long and who turned a blind eye to the problems inherent in our Afghan project."

The president is displaying real courage by sticking with a decision that remains prudential given the realities about Afghanistan and the United States. Biden is showing the requisite realist spine that America needs at this moment. And for that he should be praised, not damned.

CVA launches new effort to bring troops home from Iraq - Concerned Veterans for America

With the launch of this campaign, we hope to bring about the end of America’s disastrous 18-year war in Iraq that has cost us dearly while distracting us from more pressing priorities at home and abroad.

The campaign includes an opportunity for activists around the country to email their lawmakers directly, asking them to withdraw U.S. troops.

Staying in Afghanistan wasn't an option – Responsible Statecraft

The US withdrawal from Afghanistan was and is the right choice. The Afghan civil war began long before US involvement, and will continue long after. It's time to come home.

Cities are falling to the Taliban at a rapid pace, but the conditions for failure were ripe long before the U.S. troop withdrawal this summer.

CVA on recent Afghanistan news: the American people want out of Afghanistan - Concerned Veterans for America

The on-going conflict in Afghanistan is tragic and unfortunate - but it's important to bear in mind that this civil war has been active for decades before our involvement, and will continue long after.

The American people want our role in Afghanistan's conflict to end. Our lawmakers must ensure it does.

Recent polling shows bipartisan majority of American people - including veterans - still support bringing our troops home ARLINGTON, Va.-In response to the recent events in Afghanistan, Concerned Veterans for America's Senior Advisor Dan Caldwell issued the following statement on behalf of the org...

CVA urges committee passage of Kaine-Young 1991/2002 AUMF repeal bill - Concerned Veterans for America

"The 1991 and 2002 AUMFs are obsolete, not necessary for American security, and should have been repealed years ago. Leaving these authorizations in place only creates more opportunities for the executive branch to conduct military action abroad without consent from our representatives in Congress. We applaud Sens. Kaine and Young for driving this legislation and their leadership to ensure Congress reclaims its constitutional war powers. We hope the Senate Foreign Relations Committee passes this legislation in its present form and the full Senate swiftly follows suit.”- Dan Caldwell, CVA Senior Advisor

Opinion: Congress must assert its role in America’s war efforts

"As someone who served, it’s my responsibility to call for an end to military engagement in Iraq. Our presence does not serve a vital national interest and puts troops in unnecessary danger."- Roseanne Rodriguez, CVA Virginia Coalition Director

Montana VA included in lawsuit over information requests

The Montana VA is among 14 federal veterans facilities named in a lawsuit filed Tuesday by the Americans for Prosperity Foundation, claiming information requests were not fulfilled in a timely manner regarding questions over some new programs.
The AFP Foundation said the VA failed to provide records it requested within 20-30 business days, the allotted time frame, and they are suing to get the information.

Kevin N Connie Kondracki 4h · One of my past fellow church members at Lighthouse in PCB. Please pray! Heather Butler 4h · PLEASE SHARE!!!!! We need help finding a hospital for Jake. Yall They have been trying nonstop. They 1st have to have an ICU bed available, then they have to have an "admitting" physician at the hospital with the bed who is willing to sign off... please y'all. And if you know anyone who could help please share this below with them. Btw we will be out at the hospital tonight. Let's stand up for the ones who can't. God bless!!! Please help. I am coming to you on behalf of a friend and disabled veteran. He is 39 and a father of 5. He was admitted to the hospital here locally in Panama City after being found unresponsive on the floor of his cabinet shop early Wednesday morning. His rights and his family’s rights have been and continue to be violated. They have also been deceived. They were told at one point he was deceased and that she could come see his body once they cleaned him up. Seven hours later they called stating it was a miscommunication. This was the first of many “miscommunications” that would better be defined as deceptions. He is an organ donor and that is all they seem to be concerned about. The family has no trust as they have disconnected him from fluids without spousal consent and did not have him on any monitors-simply a ventilator. They are now blocking measures to have him transferred. We are reaching out for help to get him somewhere, anywhere, that will give him and his family an opportunity at survival and recovery. Please, on behalf of this combat veteran and his family, we are asking for some help.#savejake #truthmatters #life

THANK YOU Lake Wales Mayor & Army Veteran Eugene Fultz, Rep Mike LaRosa (via Phone), Bobby Wood, Rebecca Wood, Marine Corps Veteran Al Goldstein, and a special THANK YOU to my Army Husband-CHARLES-for always supporting me in all I do. Tune in tonight at 5 pm News...or it might be on 6 pm News tonight. Tampa Bay Fox 13 News. And also find it on the internet.
In view of the recent news coverage of the misconduct of both the investigators and the prosecutors in the case of Chief Eddie Gallagher, I thought some of you might be interested to know that this is far from an isolated instance. John E. Hatley has served 10 years so far for a crime that never happened. The press coverage was brutal, so if you google him, you will find an entirely different story. Do not be swayed by that. As usual, the press got it wrong. John is innocent, and we hope to get the chance to prove that in court someday. In the meantime, please sign his petition and visit his website or page. The website is FreeJohnEHatley.com and the page is Pardon John Hatley. The petition is at https://www.change.org/p/to-the-president-of-the-united-states-free-a-war-hero Thank you.
The May/June DAV Magazine has an article about improving survivors benefits. Most 100% total and permenant veterans would not be able to get through a day without their spouse. This makes it very difficult for the spouse to work or go to school. When the veteran passes away the survivor could receive a monthly stipend known as Dependency and Indemnity Compensation (DIC). The current DIC is only $1283 a month which inadequately supports the survivor. Also there is a limit of ten years from the time the veteran gets his approved compensation that the survivor could go to school. Normally during this time the survivor is taking care of the veteran. Once the veteran passes it is usually past the ten years so the survivor loses that benefit. The DAV is asking the 116th Congress it increase the DIC amount to 55 percent of the amount provided for disability compensation to the veteran. Also to have unlimited time to go to school. Please let Congress know to improve the V A Dependency and Indemnity Compensation benefits.
Is it possible to have a town hall meeting at the "C.W. BILL YOUNG VAMC, SAY IN THE NEXT YEAR?
Curious how the new opiod law will be affecting veteran's scripts? Which meds fall under this bill? I cannot imagine having a 3 day limit for morphine, tramadol, Tylenol 3, etc.

I find this shocking. Under Obama, the Democrats attacked the 1st amendment (religion, speech, and press) and 2nd amendment ( right to bear arms). Now, since they lost the election now they are campaigning/pushing to eliminate the Electoral college (guarantees fair elections) and against the 4th amendment (unreasonable search and seizures). There is no way anyone can convince me that the Democratic Party is not trying to establish a dictatorship over America supported by George Soros. Pray for America and our military. Americans, there may be a time when we must join our police departments and our military to protect our nation.
We don’t know them all but we owe them all. On this festive season want to tell them with all respect and gratitude “Thank You Veterans” For all veterans here is an exclusive design which will fit in any Christmas party or Ugly Christmas Sweater party.
