Concerned Veterans for America Florida

Concerned Veterans for America Florida The official page for CVA Florida. CVA advocates for policies that will preserve the freedom and liberty we and our families so proudly fought for.

We are veterans. We are the family members of those who proudly wore the uniform. We come from every branch of uniformed service, with service histories stretching from World War II to the War on Terror. We come from all walks of life and live in every community across the United States. We believe that the freedoms we defended - that our friends and loved ones suffered and died for - are threatened by the irresponsibility, broken promises, and misguided priorities in Washington. We contend that veterans, service-members, and their families are, and will continue to be, disproportionately affected by the current economic crises. We must rally to continue fighting as active citizens, just as we fought as soldiers. We believe the promise of prosperity - a promise largely denied to those who gave the most - will only be fulfilled by a more efficient, effective and disciplined government that focuses on creating opportunities rather than stifling them. We have seen firsthand what happens when freedom and free markets are interfered with and fail and we have seen what happens when they succeed. We believe that it is our duty to stand as active citizens in defense of that promise of prosperity, and to lead our fellow veterans in this new mission.

Mission: Our goal is to translate the experience, concerns, and hopes of our fellow veterans and their families into a common vision of liberty and freedom. We will provide a new and unique perspective on the issues that threaten to cripple not only our economic and national security, but the spirit of opportunity and liberty that we fought to defend and all Americans cherish.

Opinion | It’s time to withdraw from Afghanistan

Americans are divided on many matters, but they will overwhelmingly welcome a decision to end the war in Afghanistan — regardless of whom they voted for on Election Day. #endendlesswars

While we are pleased to see progress toward ending our military involvement in the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, maintaining even just a couple of thousand troops in each country will needlessly risk American lives and waste billions of dollars in pursuit of objectives not tied to our national interest. In Afghanistan in particular, it is imperative the United States continue working to withdraw all its military forces from the country before or by the May 2021 deadline laid out in the withdrawal agreement signed by the United States and the Taliban.

The American public has shown it will support a president that pursues a full withdrawal of troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. After almost two decades of fighting, it is time to bring our troops home. We again urge President Trump to pursue a full withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan and Iraq. This is the right thing for our safety, for our military, and for our nation’s future.

Checkout this letter to President Trump from our Exec. Director, Nate Anderson 👇

President Donald J. Trump,

Throughout your presidency, you have rightly called for the United States to withdraw from open-ended conflicts around the world that no longer serve vital American interests. Concerned Veterans for America commends your effort to end our endless wars so our country can focus on more pressing domestic and foreign priorities.

We urge you to fully withdraw American troops from Afghanistan by the end of January 2021. This will finish the process you started to remove our troops from that country’s long-running conflict and secure your legacy as the Commander in Chief who ended America’s longest war.

This will be the twentieth holiday season U.S. forces have spent in Afghanistan away from their families. Through their valiant efforts, our troops long ago achieved America’s principal objectives in the country by decimating Al Qaeda and severely punishing the Taliban. Unfortunately, previous administrations mired our troops in misguided nation-building efforts. This approach has proven costly and ineffective, leaving America no safer while aiding our rivals by keeping us bogged down in Central Asia.

As president, your support of Ambassador Khalilzad’s peace efforts and withdrawal of thousands of troops from Afghanistan were important steps towards ending American involvement in the conflict.

By securing a full withdrawal from Afghanistan, you will stand with the three-quarters of the American people – including veterans and military families – who support bringing our troops home from a conflict that should have concluded long ago.

Thank you for your dedication to pursuing a foreign policy that puts American interests first. We look forward to continuing to support your efforts to end our nation’s endless wars.

Sincerely,
Nathan Anderson
CVA Executive Director

Trump is right about Iraq: Time to end the mission and withdraw all troops

"It’s unfortunate that there hasn’t been more talk about Iraq in the lead-up to the election, as thousands of U.S. troops remain stationed there. Regardless of who is president come January 2021, a comprehensive assessment of America’s long involvement in Iraq reveals full withdrawal is the best policy for U.S. interests."

American security is neither enhanced by having U.S. troops on the ground in Iraq nor is it placed at higher risk by our complete withdrawal.

Through sacrifice, a dedication to duty, and tireless commitment to serving our country, they have earned the title of ‘veteran.’ Veterans Day is a time to reflect on and recognize their service and sacrifice. The US lost $19 billion in Afghanistan to waste, fraud, and abuse over a decade

Our continued involvement overseas has cost America an enormous amount of money due to waste, fraud, and abuse according to the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction. $19 billion lost is inexcusable. #endendlesswars

The U.S. government lost approximately $19 billion in taxpayer dollars to waste, fraud, and abuse in Afghanistan between 2009 and 2018, according to the top government watchdog for the reconstruction effort there

$19 Billion Wasted in Failed Afghanistan Nation-Building Efforts, Report Shows | Brad Polumbo

"In another abysmal instance, the State Department funded construction of an entire sports stadium, but the inspector general found that the stadium sits unused because it was built improperly."

Taxpayers are right to be outraged by the endemic waste and fraud plaguing our ongoing interventions in Afghanistan. But as Milton Friedman once wisely explained, we’d be foolish to think that other government programs are any more responsible with our money.

Taliban attacks increase as US troops move toward total withdrawal from Afghanistan

"The United States accomplished what it needed to long ago in Afghanistan, and leaving troops in the country will only mean a continued loss of American life in pursuit of objectives that do not serve our national interest."

National Defense Secretary Robert O'Brien affirmed this week that the Pentagon was working to carry out President Trump's vow to further diminish U.S. troop presence in Afghanistan, slashing numbers to just 2,500 by early next year. However, Trump has pushed the envelope even further in recent days....

I’m a military wife. Let me tell you about patriotism in this election

"Our country has been at war for 19 years, slamming my childhood experience with terrorism into my adult reality. Less than one percent of our population faces the reality of loving someone in our wartime military. But our community lives out the consequences of 9/11 one deployment, one death, one day at a time."

I grew up in New Jersey in the 1980s. My mom raised me on Jesus and my dad raised me on Fox News. And I’ve had a lot of time to think about the kind of patriot our country needs

Kevin N Connie Kondracki 4h · One of my past fellow church members at Lighthouse in PCB. Please pray! Heather Butler 4h · PLEASE SHARE!!!!! We need help finding a hospital for Jake. Yall They have been trying nonstop. They 1st have to have an ICU bed available, then they have to have an "admitting" physician at the hospital with the bed who is willing to sign off... please y'all. And if you know anyone who could help please share this below with them. Btw we will be out at the hospital tonight. Let's stand up for the ones who can't. God bless!!! Please help. I am coming to you on behalf of a friend and disabled veteran. He is 39 and a father of 5. He was admitted to the hospital here locally in Panama City after being found unresponsive on the floor of his cabinet shop early Wednesday morning. His rights and his family’s rights have been and continue to be violated. They have also been deceived. They were told at one point he was deceased and that she could come see his body once they cleaned him up. Seven hours later they called stating it was a miscommunication. This was the first of many “miscommunications” that would better be defined as deceptions. He is an organ donor and that is all they seem to be concerned about. The family has no trust as they have disconnected him from fluids without spousal consent and did not have him on any monitors-simply a ventilator. They are now blocking measures to have him transferred. We are reaching out for help to get him somewhere, anywhere, that will give him and his family an opportunity at survival and recovery. Please, on behalf of this combat veteran and his family, we are asking for some help.#savejake #truthmatters #life

In view of the recent news coverage of the misconduct of both the investigators and the prosecutors in the case of Chief Eddie Gallagher, I thought some of you might be interested to know that this is far from an isolated instance. John E. Hatley has served 10 years so far for a crime that never happened. The press coverage was brutal, so if you google him, you will find an entirely different story. Do not be swayed by that. As usual, the press got it wrong. John is innocent, and we hope to get the chance to prove that in court someday. In the meantime, please sign his petition and visit his website or page. The website is FreeJohnEHatley.com and the page is Pardon John Hatley. The petition is at https://www.change.org/p/to-the-president-of-the-united-states-free-a-war-hero Thank you.
The May/June DAV Magazine has an article about improving survivors benefits. Most 100% total and permenant veterans would not be able to get through a day without their spouse. This makes it very difficult for the spouse to work or go to school. When the veteran passes away the survivor could receive a monthly stipend known as Dependency and Indemnity Compensation (DIC). The current DIC is only $1283 a month which inadequately supports the survivor. Also there is a limit of ten years from the time the veteran gets his approved compensation that the survivor could go to school. Normally during this time the survivor is taking care of the veteran. Once the veteran passes it is usually past the ten years so the survivor loses that benefit. The DAV is asking the 116th Congress it increase the DIC amount to 55 percent of the amount provided for disability compensation to the veteran. Also to have unlimited time to go to school. Please let Congress know to improve the V A Dependency and Indemnity Compensation benefits.
Is it possible to have a town hall meeting at the "C.W. BILL YOUNG VAMC, SAY IN THE NEXT YEAR?

I find this shocking. Under Obama, the Democrats attacked the 1st amendment (religion, speech, and press) and 2nd amendment ( right to bear arms). Now, since they lost the election now they are campaigning/pushing to eliminate the Electoral college (guarantees fair elections) and against the 4th amendment (unreasonable search and seizures). There is no way anyone can convince me that the Democratic Party is not trying to establish a dictatorship over America supported by George Soros. Pray for America and our military. Americans, there may be a time when we must join our police departments and our military to protect our nation.
We don’t know them all but we owe them all.
