8/28/26 at 2:09 AM we were dispatched to a semi truck on fire on US 30.

Upon arrival crews were met with fire on the back of the semi that worked its way into the cab.

The driver of the semi was able to disconnect the trailer from the truck prior to our arrival.

No injuries were reported.

8/20/26 at 6:23 PM we were dispatched to a carbon monoxide alarm going off on Township Road 180.
Per investigation nothing was read on our meters and faulty batteries were determined to be the issue.

8/21/26 at 12:33 PM we were dispatched to a fire alarm on Township Road 25. We were later disregarded.

8/21/26 At 3:40 PM we were dispatched to a fire alarm on South Main Street in the village. We were later disregarded.

8/22/26 At 8:08 PM we were dispatched to a large tree that had fallen into the road on County Road 45.

8/20/26 at 2:36 AM we were dispatched to a reported semi-trailer fire on US 30.

Upon arrival, crews encountered heavy fire involving the trailer. The driver was able to safely detach the trailer from the semi-tractor, helping prevent the fire from spreading to the cab.

Fire crews worked to extinguish the fire and ensure the scene was safe. No injuries were reported.

8/9/26 At 8:41 AM we were dispatched to a structure fire on Township Road 31.

Reports of smoke coming from both sides of the structure.

Upon arrival crews were met with fire heavy fire on the Charlie side of the structure.
The fire extended into the attic and throughout the rest of the structure.

We would like to congratulate Jake Simons on passing his probationary year and now is an official member of the AVFD!

Jake passed his 36 hour volunteer firefighter course and passed the state of Ohio Volunteer firefighter test.

Congratulations Jake and welcome officially to the AVFD!

We would also like to welcome a new probationary member to the department.

Dominick Hudson

Dominick resides in the Arlington Fire district and is a Vanlue graduate.

Welcome Dominick!

The AVFD is proud to announce we are taking part in the Junior Firefighter Program.

This program allows students from the age of 16-18 to engage in the fire service. These cadets can’t go into a structure fire but they can always help out when needed around the scene or station whether it’s helping break down hose, grabbing tools, refilling air packs or just training with our firefighters on training nights and other activities the AVFD partakes in.

We would like to welcome Braxton Gillfillan and Logan Hartman.

Both of these cadets are students at Arlington High School.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all of our sponsors for partnering with us for this year’s fireworks.

We would also like to offer our deepest apologies to the Arlington Festival Committee. Due to a miscommunication, we unintentionally omitted them from our donors banner this year.

The Arlington Festival Committee has been incredibly generous in supporting our fireworks display, not only this year but for years to come. We are truly grateful for their partnership, encouragement, and continued commitment to our community.

We sincerely apologize for this oversight and thank the Arlington Festival Committee for all of their help, support, and confidence in our staff. We truly appreciate everything you do.

Just a reminder!

Starting at 6:00 am Friday 6/26/26 till 6:00 am Saturday 6/27/26, the recycling containers, soccer fields, and the northeast portion of the walking trail (the portion adjacent to the soccer fields, north, east & west sides) will be closed to the public. This is due to the presence of commercial grade fireworks and the loading of shells for Friday evening's fireworks display. Closing off this area of the north park, to public access, allows the fireworks exhibitor to be in compliance with The Ohio Fire Code.

Please avoid this area for the 24 hour period and please excuse us for any inconvenience this may cause in your daily routine. We want all to be safe and enjoy the show. Thank you for your cooperation.
