Short Elementary School Short Elementary, serving grades Pre-K through 6. Mrs. Beatrice Short is Short Elementary's namesake. Short taught for 49 years overall. Mr.

She taught at Johnson Station Elementary for the majority of her career. Johnson Station School was an active school for seventy-six years in the community. A new elementary school was much needed. As the doors closed at Johnson Station School, the doors opened at Short Elementary in the fall of 1970. Larson, the last principal at Johnson Station, became the first principal of Short Elementary. T

he school's dedication was held on February 28, 1971. A portrait of our namesake, Mrs. Beatrice Short, is located in our lobby.

All after-school activities in Arlington ISD have been canceled for today, Tuesday, April 28, 2026, due to anticipated severe weather. All campuses will dismiss at their normal time today. Elementary onsite after school care will continue as scheduled.
