A HUGE congratulations to all of our Kindergarten families for showing up and showing out! 💙🤍 Your support makes such a difference for our school, and we are so excited to celebrate YOU!

Ms. Pina’s students used manipulatives to understand multiplication. They used the bracelets to act as their groups and mini erasers to act as their items! They then used that to do a group activity where they drew from a cup what type of model to draw and took turns representing the equation three different ways!

Our PTA has a few announcements as we get ready for Make-A-Wish Week, September 8–11! 💙⭐

Our Tigers will be bringing in donations each day, and we are asking staff and students to donate at least $2.00 to receive their very own star! ⭐

The stars will be displayed along our Make-A-Wish Walk outside the cafeteria, creating a special reminder of how our school community is coming together to make a difference.

This year, we are helping grant the wish of a sweet 7-year-old boy, and we would love for our DES family to help make this experience extra special for him!

Ms. Pina and Ms. Nolen taught students more about static electricity today! They learned the reason why their hair sticks to a balloon, and they deepened their understanding by holding the balloon over a plate with salt and pepper. Did you know pepper jumps to the balloon because it’s attracted to the balloon’s electrons? These kids do!
