The 39th LD includes the cities and towns of Skykomish, Index, Gold Bar, Startup, Sultan, Monroe, Granite Falls, Arlington, Trafton, Oso, Darrington, Sedro Woolley, Lymam, Hamilton, Concrete, Rockport, Marblemount, and part of Marysville. The 39th LD stretches from north King County to the northern border of Skagit County and from east of I-5 to the crest of the Cascade mountains.

Today we commemorate the day news of freedom finally reached the last enslaved Black Americans in Galveston, Texas. We are reminded that freedom is the work of people, not an ideal we were destined to achieve. As we celebrate liberation, we also honor the generations who endured injustice and suffering before it arrived.

This Juneteenth, we recommit ourselves to fight the rollback of political power of Black communities, protecting civil rights, preserving Black history, and ensuring that the stories and contributions of Black Americans are never erased or forgotten.
