Our Story
I Am Works Association volunteers and local experts in the field will provide individuals with functioning vocational, social, and work-related skills training, to help them gain confidence and skills necessary to obtain employment, creating a level of self-sufficiency.
I Am Works Association aims to form partnerships with entities consisting of: other non-profits, educational training communities, faith-based organizations, and labor organizations that represent the interest of workers and families.
Thus far I Am Works as launched the following programs:
• Community Rehabilitation Program (CRP): a Texas Industries for the Blind and Handicapped (TIBH) certified non-profit Community Rehabilitation Program, which employs and links disadvantage and disabled individuals with work and meaningful career options. Having service contracts with various state agencies across the DFW area.
• Angel Works Angel Tree: In partnership with Christmas Is For Children (CIFC); providing food and gift distribution to aid needy families, women and children during for the holidays. Serviced 30 families (62 children) Christmas 2012.
• Educational Program: Conduct Life/Career workshops - sessions discuss job search, career planning, and life transitions. Resume/Interview session – resume writing, tips, techniques; preparation and expectations for the different types of interviews.
• Sponsorships: Rock Respect Academy program and Open Hearts Children and Family Service organization: to aid in the development of children; teaching life skills (public speaking, manners, black history, performing arts, etc.)
As we continue to expand and provide additional services and programs; I Am Works Association is an educational and charitable organization with activities that are funded by gifts, grants, and contributions received.
