Sometimes the most meaningful acts of service happen outside of an emergency call.

When Jaxson arrived for work, he noticed a citizen in the police department vestibule who appeared frustrated and in need of assistance. Recognizing she may need help, he took the initiative to step in, contact officers on her behalf, and reassure her that help was on the way.

35 Years of Milestones: 2026

In 2026, NCT9-1-1 implemented AI-powered transcription and translation services within its 9-1-1 system and piloted AI support for non-emergency calls. These advancements help improve efficiency, enhance accessibility, and support telecommunicators in delivering critical services to the public as well as improve response times for our callers.

The future of 9-1-1 starts with training.

NCT9-1-1 is proud to host the only Regional Telecommunicator Academy in Texas. In 2026, the academy celebrated a major milestone with the graduation of its 20th class.

For a decade, the academy has helped prepare the next generation of 9-1-1 telecommunicators with the knowledge and skills needed to serve their communities when every second counts.

35 Years of Milestones: 2023

In 2023, NCT9-1-1 achieved a historic first by making the world's first Real-Time Text (RTT) 9-1-1 call.
RTT allows text to be transmitted instantly during a 9-1-1 call, creating a more accessible and equitable experience for individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing, or unable to speak during an emergency.

When the COVID-19 pandemic changed the way the world worked, NCT9-1-1 adapted.

In 2020, our team successfully implemented a new mapping solution for emergency communications centers entirely remotely. What began as a challenge became an opportunity to innovate, collaborate differently, and expand what's possible in supporting 9-1-1 operations.

As temperatures continue to rise in Texas, it's important to remember how to tell if someone is experiencing heat exhaustion or having a heat stroke. If someone is showing signs of either, get them to a cool place, give them water, and call 9-1-1 if symptoms continue.
