Self-doubt can feel convincing—but a thought isn’t automatically a fact. 💭

When your inner critic gets loud, try getting curious instead of immediately believing everything it says. Ask yourself:

✨ What evidence supports this thought?
✨ What evidence challenges it?
✨ What would I say to a friend who felt this way?
✨ Am I confusing a feeling with a fact?
✨ What is a more balanced and compassionate way to see this?

Reframing doesn’t mean ignoring difficult emotions or pretending everything is okay. It means slowing down long enough to examine the story your mind is telling you and making room for a perspective that is truthful, balanced, and compassionate.

And as we learn to challenge our own thoughts, Scripture gives us a beautiful reminder of where to direct our minds:

“Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable… think about such things.” — Philippians 4:8

You don’t have to believe every thought that enters your mind. Give yourself permission to examine it, challenge it, and replace it with what is true. 🤍

Depressive thoughts can feel convincing, especially when we’ve been carrying them for a while. But a thought feeling true doesn’t always make it a fact.

One of the tools used in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is learning to slow down and get curious about our thoughts instead of automatically believing them.

When you notice a painful or critical thought, try asking yourself:

What evidence supports it?
Am I treating a feeling like a fact?
What else could be true?
What would I say to someone I care about?
Is there a more balanced way to see this?

The goal isn’t to force yourself to “think positive.” It’s to practice thinking more accurately, fairly, and compassionately. 🌿

Save this post for a day when your thoughts feel especially heavy.

Campers will discover emotions, effective communication, as well as how to empathize with the emotional needs of others. For many people, there’s a misconception that you have to choose between faith and counseling. The truth is, you don’t.

God often works through people, wisdom, relationships, and practical tools to bring healing. Seeking counseling isn’t a sign that your faith is weak, it’s a step toward caring for the mind and heart God has entrusted to you.

Prayer and therapy can work together. Faith offers hope. Counseling provides skills, insight, and support. Together, they can help you move toward healing, growth, and restoration.

“The purposes of a person’s heart are deep waters, but one who has insight draws them out.” Proverbs 20:5

Forgiveness doesn't erase the pain, it releases the hold it has on you.
Healing isn't about pretending it didn't hurt. It's about choosing peace over carrying the weight any longer. If you're working through forgiveness, grief, or letting go, you don't have to do it alone.

When your mind is always living in tomorrow, it becomes difficult to experience today.

Overthinking often begins as an attempt to protect yourself. If you’ve experienced hurt, disappointment, or uncertainty, your brain may try to stay one step ahead by preparing for every possible outcome. The problem is that living in “what if” can steal your peace in “what is.”

You don’t have to have every answer today.

You don’t have to prepare for every possible future.

You are allowed to be present in the life God has given you right now.

As Jesus reminds us in Matthew 6:34, “Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.”

Healing isn’t about eliminating every anxious thought. It’s about learning to return your attention to the present moment, trusting that God will give you the grace you need when tomorrow comes.

Overthinking often comes from a mind that’s trying to protect you, not a sign that you’re weak. Healing begins when you stop demanding certainty and start trusting that you can handle what comes next.
