Our Story

Arlington Charities is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization helping to stabilize families, individuals and the homeless by helping them cover their most basic needs. The charity specializes in food, clothing, hygiene items, financial literacy classes, food and toys for the holidays, and information and referral services. We were founded in 1978 and have been dutifully serving the Arlington Community for over 40 years. AC is currently the largest food pantry in the city and the only client choice pantry for local individuals! We try to make a big difference in our community. In 2017 the charity served over 55,000 residents with over 1,067,549 pounds of food.

Communities Foundation of Texas (CFT) recently offered a funding opportunity for nonprofits focused on providing emergency financial assistance in our local communities, including support for rent and mortgages, utilities, childcare, transportation, healthcare, and more.

$435,000 was awarded across 35 nonprofits providing social services in North Texas, in alignment with CFT’s grantmaking pillar of “Living."

Eight of these nonprofits working to support our neighbors in need include: ACO - All Community Outreach, Arlington Charities, Cancer Care Services, Catholic Charities Dallas, Cornerstone Assistance Network, DFW Angels, Pathfinders, and For Oak Cliff.

See the full list of recipients and learn more about how they're using these grant funds at: CFTexas.org/SocialServicesGrants2022
