Welcome to the Military Reserve Exchange Program (MREP)
1. To identify highly qualified soldiers interested in participating in the FY18 Military Reserve Exchange Program (MREP). To serve as notification to the States/Territories, of the expected FY 18 MREP opportunities.
2. MREP is a reciprocal exchange program which provides Guard and Reserve members, officer and enlisted alike, the opportun
ity to train with select foreign allied nations. The States/Territories selected to participate in the program will host a foreign reserve exchange officer in return. Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) between the US and participating countries govern the program, while the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense, Reserve Affairs (OASD-RA) provides program policy and oversight. Provide participants with training opportunities that broaden their professional development and increase their knowledge of other US and Foreign Reserve Forces. b. Enhance participants' ability to mobilize and deploy OCON US. c. Foster international cooperation, and nurture enduring relationships. d. Demonstrate continued support to NATO members and their militaries. e. Provide host units the opportunity to display their readiness to Reservists of other nations and learn from the visiting foreign participants.
3. The Army National Guard (ARNG) is funding Army National Guard (ARNG) soldiers to participate in FY18 Military Reserve Exchange Program (MREP). All exchanges are scheduled to take place between May and September 2018. All MREP travel must end NLT 30 Sept 2018. a. The Army National Guard (ARNG) is funding 154 Soldiers to participate in FY17 Military Reserve Exchange Program (MREP). All exchanges are scheduled to take place between May and September 2017. Target for the exchange is ARNG Officers (O1-O4), Warrant Officers (CW1-CW3) and Non Commissioned Officers (E5-E7). Program is open for IDT soldiers only and excludes soldiers in any active duty status. Soldiers will perform a 15-day training period with the reserve forces from the German Army, United Kingdom Territorial Army (UKTA), the Danish Home Guard, or the Estonian Army. Additional countries may be approved this year. Any new opportunities with be selected from the existing MREP application pool or coordinated directly with states/territories. The exchange is reciprocal. States must agree at the time of application to host a foreign reserve soldier during their annual training.
