A blast from the past. The History Project (The House & The Dog)

The History Project at Robbins Farm Park was formally dedicated in October 2018. But the idea to remind us all of Farmer Robbins's great gift to our community started over twenty years ago.

We decided to mark the location of the main portion of Farmer Robbins's House with granite blocks and to recreate his dog statue outside the house. I formally started to develop the design in 2013, and I made full size mockups of the granite walls marking the stone and the statue in 2014. We were thrilled when the 2017 conceptual design was quickly and enthusiastically approved by the Town's Park and Recreation Commission.

Donations from our membership paid for the granite and the statue and the Town of Arlington contributed by including construction and landscaping in the project to rebuild the Park's fields and make the Park fully accessible in 2017. Community Preservation Act funds were key in making the Park rebuild and improvements happen.
