Child Care Aware® of America (CCAoA) is a national nonprofit organization working to advance affordability, accessibility, development and learning of children in child care. CCAoA provides information, referrals, tools and resources to families seeking child care nationwide, with a special emphasis on serving vulnerable and special populations, including refugees and asylees, military families an

d low-income families. CCAoA and the U.S. Army work together to support the Army Fee Assistance Program and bring Army families affordable child care. The Army and Child Care Aware® of America work together to provide Army families with affordable, accessible, and high-quality child care through the Army Fee Assistance (AFA) Program.

General information

The Army Fee Assistance (AFA) Program is the Army’s contribution to the total cost of child care for Army families. AFA is an initiative that assists Army families in reducing the cost of off-post child care when on-post options are not available or when geographically separated from on-post child care options. Child Care Aware® of America works with the Army’s AFA Program and is committed to helping Army families find quality, affordable, community-based child care.
