Meetings are held on 2nd and 4th Wednesdays at Marymount University during the lunch hour, with the opportunity to attend virtually on Zoom. The Kiwanis Club of Arlington serves the children of our community and globally in a variety of ways. We support youth leadership organizations in the schools through Key Clubs at Arlington Career Center, Washington-Liberty and Yorktown High Schools. Through
these clubs we promote leadership training and community service for Arlington's youth. The combined efforts of the Kiwanis Club of Arlington and our affiliated Arlington Kiwanis Foundation funnel between $50,000-$60,000 per year to youth organizations and other community educational and charitable organizations, including Arlington Thrive, PRS Crisis Link, Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN), Aspire! After School Learning, Arlington YMCA, Arlington 4-H, Girls on the Run, Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC), National Capital Treatment & Recovery, and many others. Our members participate in several fundraisers during the year to raise a large portion of these funds. In addition, the club organizes a variety of hands-on projects during the year such as bagging groceries at the Arlington Food Assistance Center and reading to young children at Aspire! We estimate that we serve approximately 5000 children each year.
