Flotilla 25-12 Arlington / Northern Virginia We are the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary on the upper Potomac River. Coast Guard or Secretary of Homeland Security.

As the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary unit on the upper Potomac River, safety, security, marine environmental protection, humanitarian assistance, homeland security and service to others are just a few of the things that we put first every day. Our operations and personnel focus on the Potomac and Anacostia Rivers surrounding our nation’s capital and run westward along the Interstate 66 and D

ulles Airport corridors to the Shenandoah River. Established by Congress in 1939, the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary is Semper Paratus (Always Ready). The Auxiliary operates in:

• Safety and Security Patrols
• Search and Rescue
• Mass Causality or Disasters
• Pollution Response & Patrols
• Homeland Security
• Recreational Boating Safety
• Commerical Fishing and Vessel Exams
• Platforms for Boarding Parties
• Recruit for all service in the Coast Guard

In addition to the above, the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary operates in any mission as directed by the Commandant of the U.S.
