How many of us actually thought about the health of our lungs before the pandemic?!

But now, with scenes of once healthy people on ventilators and long haul COVID still a reality, this month's National Healthy Lung Month is one more reason to be grateful for the ability to take a deep breath.

Besides exercise and no smoking, diaphragmatic breathing helps us maintain and increase lung capacity. It's also great for taking a moment to pause and clear your head. Here's how according to the COPD Foundation 👇

🌀Relax your shoulders and sit back or lie down.
🌀Place one hand on your belly and one on your chest.
🌀Inhale through your nose for two seconds, feeling the air move into your abdomen and feeling your stomach move out. Your stomach should move more than your chest does.
🌀Breathe out for two seconds through pursed lips while pressing on your abdomen.
🌀Repeat.
