the Mass Department of Public Health designated many communities across the state, including Arlington, a “moderate risk” for West Nile virus after the first human case this year. Arlington Public Health officials urge residents to take precautions to protect against mosquito bites by wearing protective clothing and/or insect repellant when outside and keeping bugs outside using screens. Join us TOMORROW! Sunday Aug 23, 12-2PM, for the return of the Dog Days of Summer at the Res. A special day for our canine friends! Please join us for an end-of-summer celebration at the Arlington Reservoir with your four-legged friend for some canine-only swimming. (The Reservoir Beach season ends on Aug. 21st and the water will no longer be treated and therefore unsafe for general public bathing). All dogs must be licensed, vaccinated, and healthy. Bathrooms and Snack Bar will be open. Donations are welcome to support Arlington's Off-Leash Recreation Areas. Aug 25-26 Bike Path Work for erosion repair in the Heights around Lowell Street overpass and Park Ave bridge. Repairs will be performed Tuesday night 9PM-until completed – bike path closed.
