AAFSW was saddened to hear of the passing of Ambassador Swing. AAFSW 2nd Vice President, Melanie McFeeters hoped to include Ambassador Swing for a future virtual event. AAFSW looks forward to reading the transcript of his oral history.

ADST was deeply saddened to learn on Sunday of the passing of Ambassador William Lacy Swing. With the same generosity of spirit and quiet wisdom he brought to all his endeavors, Ambassador Swing was doing his oral history with us when he was hospitalized with Covid. We extend our deepest condolences to his family and join with his many friends around the world in admiration for his character and his life work as a diplomat in the Foreign Service representing the United States, and later with UN Peace-keeping and at the IOM dealing with the challenging human and political issues presented by international migration. May he continue to companion with peace.
