Fifty-four hours. Forty miles. Almost no sleep.
The Crucible starts at 2:30 in the morning with a six kilometer hike and does not stop until it is done. Eight major events, combat assault courses, casualty evacuation drills, reaction courses, all on limited rations. In between are the Warrior Stations, each one named for a real Marine and built around what they did.
They are not just testing whether your recruit can keep going. They are testing whether your recruit can solve a problem and carry somebody else while doing it.
General Krulak introduced it in 1996 as the last test before they earn the title.
