Meet Sarah Heck, one of our Sandboxx Community Ambassadors from Northeast Indiana. 🧡

She and her husband have three sons, and all three are stepping into adulthood in inspiring ways.

Broderic enlisted in the Air National Guard as a high school senior. ✈️
Landon earned a Naval ROTC nursing scholarship and heads to Marquette University this fall. ⚓
Marshall was awarded a spot in a highly competitive skilled trades apprenticeship. 🔧

Three boys. Three paths. One family that has always believed in service and doing hard things. 🏔️

In Sarah's words:

"We have raised all 3 of our sons to embrace doing hard things, to be comfortable being uncomfortable, and to put others first while honoring God, family, and country. When our sons each turned 14, my husband took them on their first one-on-one father/son trip to Colorado to climb a 14,000 foot mountain to show them that they CAN do hard things, even when it looks impossible at the start.

Supporting our troops is essential to preserving the freedoms we enjoy every day. Our military members sacrifice so much on our behalf; the absolute least we can do is support them in return."

Happy National Siblings Day! 🧡⚓

About 3 weeks before her son shipped out for Navy boot camp, Trisha Kozloski from New Haven, CT found herself crying on the treadmill at the gym. She had no idea why.

She was proud. She was excited for him. So why the tears?

She beat herself up about it. She told herself she wasn't sad. She told her husband. She told her son.

And then the airport goodbye happened and she understood.

"I have learned that so many of the tears are tears of joy and proudness. I am just so filled with pride that it leaks out my eyes."

Today we are spotlighting Trisha, a proud Navy mom, a Sandboxx Community Ambassador and the heart of a family of seven. Her four younger kids rallied around their big brother from day one and they are all counting down the days until they pack up siblings and cat included to watch him graduate at Great Lakes.

Today we honor the recipients of our nation's highest military decoration. 🎖️

The Medal of Honor represents something almost impossible to put into words. It is the story of a human being who, in the most dire of circumstances, chose others over themselves completely and without hesitation.
