Air Force Research Laboratory - AFRL seeks to find a partner with the capabilities to predict the internal structural configuration of buildings by only using external satellite photographs of the building taken from various angles.

The current approach used in developing a target structure for structural response analysis is a time-consuming process that the DoD would like to be largely automated. AFRL’s intent is to use the results of this challenge as building blocks for later efforts, and using open-source tools will enable work to be transitioned to later efforts.

Led by three diverse entrepreneurs, Gary Williams, Jason Mullins, and Christopher James, their technology can perform asset management and non-invasive patient monitoring through a greater number of complex-shaped surfaces without reprogramming the software. This summer, the inaugural NSIN Tech Squad cohort was hard at work developing machine learning, algorithm, and application solutions that improved supply chains, certification training, and communications for Department of Defense (DoD) problem sponsors. The program recently concluded with a Demo Day where Tech Squad participants presented their solutions to industry and military partners.
