Thanks to everyone for your support! Though the vote for the Pool Referendum did fail, we can also say we did our best to inform the public and give them a chance to decide for themselves.

The Superintendent and School Board will now be looking into how to move forward and will provide updates as they become available.

That said, there's another important election coming up for the school district. PLEASE vote YES on the Education Operating Levy Tuesday, Nov 3 2026. Please don't let yesterday's vote outcome deter you from voting YES. This should be a time of unity, not pettiness.

I don't know what the future holds for Arlington and a local swimming pool. I do know that when that time comes again there will be a community ready to support its success.

Today is the day! Time to go out and vote! In case you haven't seen it, this is what the question looks like on the ballot.

The Arlington/Sibley East Swimming Pool was built and opened in 1974 after someone drowned in the MN river by Henderson. The district came together and said "never again".

The pool closed in 2024, and a citizens' petition compelled the school to get a proper inspection and quote to bring it to a District Vote (as was the original plan twice bypassed).

The Save The Pool Committee secured $20k in annual pledges (pending pool status) with another $20k pending on The City of Arlington's involvement. Additional annual fundraiser events to offset expenses.

This is it! Time to make our voices heard!

Early voting is over and tomorrow's the big day!! If you haven't mailed your ballot, please hold and drop it off at the Sibley County Courthouse (in Ga***rd) tomorrow instead!

It's been a long road, though the vote to restore the Arlington/Sibley East Pool will finally be on the Tuesday, August 11, 2026 Primary Election Ballot.

Don't forget about the Education Operating Levy on the Tuesday, November 3, 2026 General Election Ballot!!

Aug 11 for the Pool, Nov 3 for the School!! Let's go!!!

During the 2026 Minnesota Primary, homeowners in Arlington, Ga***rd and Green Isle will have an important decision to make on Tuesday, Aug. 11, whether to repair the Sibley East Pool or close it forever.

Some good, neutral information on both votes coming up! While we strongly encourage you to vote YES to both, it's up to you to weigh the FACTS. The fact is we're living in some unprecedented times of inflation rising, cost of living rising, and cuts from the Federal/State governments. While things are looking gloom in the present, I look to the future with bright eyes with these two opportunities to invest in our community's future to reenergize Sibley East.
