The George W. Hawkes Downtown Library experienced unexpected water damage over the weekend. The library will be open to the public normal hours, however, certain areas of the collection will have limited access. Staff will be available for assistance on every floor.

UPDATE: The George W. Hawkes Downtown Library experienced unexpected water damage over the weekend. The library will be open to the public normal hours, however, certain areas of the collection will have limited access. Staff will be available for assistance on every floor.

The George W. Hawkes Downtown Library is temporarily closed today, Sunday May 24, 2026, due to sudden facility issues. The East Library and Recreation Center is open normal hours today, from noon to 5 p.m.

The Create, Craft, and Chat program from 3-5 p.m. today at the Downtown library has been cancelled. We hope to reschedule soon!

Western wear is encouraged but not required. This program is for adults 18+. Registration is required. Join us on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at George W. Hawkes Downtown Library.
