This evening, thanks to a generous donation from Citizens State Bank coupled with a government grant, we put two new SCBA packs into service.

These Dräger high pressure packs are state of the art technology and allow for longer working time between refills, keeping or firefighters and the community we serve that much safer.

This pack, mask and one spare tank come with a price tag of more than $10,000.

If you’re interested in more information on how important this equipment such is, or how you might assist in replacing any of our aging protective equipment, reach out to any firefighter and let’s talk!

There are good people wherever we go.

Our thoughts are with the community of Atkinson, NE today.

Gregory Fire Department responded yesterday afternoon with a truck to assist at the Atkinson Fire. Upon arriving in Atkinson, our crew was met by an unknown individual who generously covered the cost of our fuel and food. To that man—thank you. Your kindness and support mean more than words can express.

We ask that you keep all our neighbors in your thoughts and prayers during this time, and please join us in praying for much-needed rain.

Congratulations to our own, Warrin and Annalise!

Congratulations to our own, Warrin and Annalise!

They did it! 👏🏻👏🏻 19 area firefighters from Brookings, Volga, Arlington, Bruce, Aurora, Groton, Lake Preston, and Madison have successfully completed the Certified Firefighter Course. The final step was to complete live fire evolutions at the training site burn towers. Well done!

Kingsbury County is under a Red Flag Fire Danger Warning.

A county-wide burn ban is in effect until further notice.

Please use extreme caution when working outdoors.

If you have tillage equipment, please consider keeping it hooked up to a tractor to assist your fire department in the event of wildfire.
Thank you!
