Burn ban in effect

Burn Ban in Effect — September 5 through September 8

A burn ban is effective immediately for the unincorporated areas of Crawford County and will remain in place until 8:30 AM Tuesday, September 8.

While the Grassland Fire Danger Index is currently moderate, extreme heat and dry conditions can cause fires to burn more intensely and become harder to control. These conditions also place additional stress on firefighters and emergency responders working in already dangerous heat.

This burn ban is being issued for the safety of our communities and responders.

Happy Saturday. Your Arma firefighters and Arma police officers joined together for their CPR training and refreshers this morning. Its always a pleasure to get to work side by side with each other. Huge shout out to Kenny Yoakum for coming in and putting this on for us.

While out on the town doing some district study and pre planning Lucas and Beau found the perfect spot to get a snack. Not sure who was more excited them or this little guy. If you're out and see him stop by and get some chips.

As today is national volunteer firefighter recognition day I have to take a second and say just how thankful I am for each and every one of our members. Each one of them bring something special to our table and that helps make us the department that we are. Every day our members strive to not just protect but to be of service to our community. I am proud to have such an amazing crew. Thank every one of you for your dedication to this department and the people we serve.

Yesterday just after 2pm your Arma Fire Department/ Crawford County Fire District #2 firefighters responded to a call for a fully involved trailer house that had also spread to nearby camper and surrounding brush. It was found to be fully involved and on the ground upon arrival. Thankfully the property was not occupied at the time. A huge shout out to Mulberry Fire Department, Arcadia, Kansas - Volunteer Fire Department for the extra manpower and water supply and Crawford County Kansas EMS for helping our members in rehab with the extreme heat they faced.

🚒❤️ MEET THE AUXILIARY ❤️🚒

Day 6!

Today we’re introducing Courtney Roberts, our President of the Arma Fire Auxiliary!

As President, Courtney helps lead the Auxiliary, coordinate our members and activities, and work alongside our officers and members to support the Arma Fire Department, our firefighters, their families, and our community. ❤️

Courtney is the wife of Brandon Hubbard, who serves as Assistant Fire Chief with the Arma Fire Department and is also a Firefighter/AEMT. 🚒❤️

Being part of a fire family has given Courtney a special understanding of the dedication, sacrifice, and commitment that comes with serving our community. It’s a big part of what inspired her to help build an Auxiliary focused on supporting the firefighters and families who give so much to our community.

We’re excited to see where this Auxiliary goes and incredibly thankful for everyone who has chosen to be part of it!
