Shout out thanks to all the students, teachers, staff, PTA members and administrators at Greenville ES! I was a first time guest presenter this morning for 3 sessions. I spoke with K-2nd Graders, 3rd-4th Graders and 5th-6th Graders.

I enjoyed great audiences! All the kids were welcoming and attentive listeners. There were many eager volunteers in each sessions when I asked for. I think my themes fit well with the School’s PAWS pledge. And I was delighted when a teacher thought of me being by the door as the older students left so would be easier for the high 5s, handshakes and fist bumps, too. The PTA parent was great, too, when she had the students open a path down the middle for her to push me through. In the last group, the high 5s started as I was rolling through! I found Greenville ES to be a lovely school with wonderful students and staff. And parents can be most proud of their children who were friendly, enthusiastic, engaged – everything I find hopeful for the future.

Andrea Lynn Mariano Lodato
May 29, 1964 — April 24, 2021

Milestones can be tough. Is it crazily possible that I miss Andrea more now five years later? How is it possible that half a decade has passed since she passed? It’s a grey rainy day here in New York, but I just had a memory flash of watching TV with Andrea with the song Sunshine On My Shoulders playing as the theme. Seem familiar to any Gen Xers from back in the 70s? Those early 70 years, Andrea and I watched a lot of TV together, especially Saturday morning cartoons.

Yes, I do believe I miss her more now. 😔

What I was doing a week ago today! As a member of Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins’ Advisory Council on PWD, I volunteered at the Diverse Abilities Job Fair. I very much appreciate CE Jenkins showing up and seeing the fabulous turnout. It really does mean a lot for PWD truly to be seen! Personally it’s nice to be included in pictures and, of course, to be of use!
