To all the mothers and motherly figures out there, we offer our sincerest Mother's Day wishes, particularly to those whose children, or they themselves, have bravely chosen a career or volunteer in firefighting, serving those in need.

After a very long process, we took delivery of our "new to us" engine yesterday! It is a 2012 HME Ferrara Pumper with a 1,750-gpm pump and a 1,000-gallon water tank. This new engine will provide us with enhanced capabilities and improved ergonomics, making it easier for firefighters to do their jobs quickly and effectively. It will take several weeks to equip and complete the required training before it can be placed into service. Thank you to the City of Arnold for supporting this acquisition. By using the grant funding made available by the City and the Relief Funds provided to the Fire Dept from out-of-state fire insurance premiums, we were able to obtain this engine without additional financial burden on the citizens of Arnold!

Crews are continuing to move snow from side streets and alleys into Drey St to remove. Please use caution and watch out for equipment operating. Some streets will have intermittent closures by the police department.

01/28/2026

Arnold Public Works has suspended all garbage pick up this week. This will allow crews to clear alleys and streets ahead of resuming normal pick up next week. They apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for bearing with them. On a related note, our crews have been working very hard to get the snow cleared. We understand that residents have been frustrated. We ask that you please continue to be patient as this is not a normal problem and we are not the only municipality working through these issues.

01/27/2026

City public works will continue to clear roads today and will be working to clear snow piles around intersections. Please be cautious of equipment operating. Garbage pick up will be delayed until Thursday or Friday. Crews have asked that residents clear areas around garbage cans so they are accessible.

01/26/2026

Mayor Santucci has lifted the travel restrictions within the City of Arnold. Our Public Works crews have most primary and secondary streets cleared or reasonably cleared. Motorists are requested to exercise caution and continue to travel only if necessary.
Temperatures will remain in the high teens to low single digits through the weekend with wind chills of up to -20, and we are expecting an addition accumulation of snow on Tuesday. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!

01/25/2026

Effective at 4 pm today, January 25, 2026, Mayor Shannon Santucci and members of council have declared a disaster emergency for the City of Arnold.
While most of the decision is aimed at administrative functions, there are restrictions now in place that affect the general public. Most significant is a travel restriction on city roadways. Unnecessary travel is temporarily prohibited. Only essential and emergency traffic is permitted. The public works department is working diligently to clear roadways. This restriction will allow them to do so without unnecessary traffic interference.
We ask that residents please keep fire hydrants clear of any snow and parked vehicles. Please do not shovel snow into the roadways. Thank you for your understanding.
