A very accomplished gentleman will be teaching our junior high band students.

Please help us welcome Mr. Kirk Ybañez to the Arp Tiger Pride Band Family!

Mr. Ybañez will serve as our Assistant Band Director and Director of Percussion. Originally from the Philippines, he moved to Texas in 2016 and began his musical journey as a percussionist at Sabine High School. He is a graduate of Northwestern State University where he studied under Dr. Oliver Molina and performed with numerous ensembles including Wind Symphony, Spirit of Northwestern Marching Band, Steel PanDemonium, Brazilian Samba Band, and the Natchitoches-Northwestern Symphony Orchestra.

Mr. Ybañez is an accomplished performer, composer, and educator whose passion for music and student leadership will make an incredible impact on our program. We are excited for our students to learn and grow under his leadership, and can’t wait to see the future of percussion at Arp.

For the third time in her outstanding 25-year teaching career, Mrs. Tiffany Ellis is named Arp ISD's KTBB 97.5FM Radio Teacher Of The Year.
Earning the nod for 2025-26, our 6th grade ELAR & dyslexia teacher expressed her gratitude after humbly accepting the honor.
"It means a lot to be awarded teacher of the year along side so many deserving teachers. Last year I made a switch in grade levels and even though I was nervous, getting this award validates all the hard work," said Ellis.
Earlier this spring, she also won the The Rotary Club of Tyler teacher of the year award.
