The Artesia Police Department is requesting assistance from the public in identifying suspects involved in a violent armed robbery and aggravated burglary that occurred in the early morning hours of May 19, 2026.

At approximately 3:30 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 900 block of Bullock Court following reports of a home invasion. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the victim had sustained significant injuries and had already been transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Incident Summary
According to the investigation:
Three unidentified male suspects, all wearing ski masks, forced entry into the residence. The suspects were armed with handguns, some equipped with lights and at least one with a green laser.
The suspects demanded property and threatened serious harm before fleeing the scene. Investigators determined the suspects forcibly entered the home using a pry tool. The interior of the home showed evidence of a violent struggle, and multiple items were left behind by the suspects which are being processed for forensic evidence.

Suspect Descriptions
The suspects are described as:
Three Hispanic males with light skin tone. Suspects were described as younger males, possibly juveniles. Slim builds. Heights ranging approximately from 5’5” to 5’9”.

All wore full ski masks, one described as a fleece-style (“fuzzy”) mask. One suspect had a distinct “N” tattoo on his cheek, visible beneath his mask. The suspects reportedly fled the area on foot.

Request for Information
Investigators are still working to determine motive and identify all individuals involved.

The Artesia Police Department urges anyone who:
Saw suspicious individuals or activity in the area of Bullock Court or Dallas Street between 2:00 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. on May 19. Has surveillance or doorbell camera footage. Artesia - show up!
On April 14, over 100 riders from Combat Hero Bike Build (CHBB) will be escorted out of town following their stop here.
This is a short window 12:50 PM to 1:00 PM but it matters.
These riders represent wounded Purple Heart recipients and the ongoing connection between military and first responders. This ride exists to keep that brotherhood intact.
We’re asking the community and Main Street businesses to step out front and make it visible.
Put your American flags out.
Bring flags from home.
Line Main Street and stand present.
No staging. No disruption. Just presence and respect as they pass through.
Artesia has a reputation. This is where we can show it.

The City of Artesia is monitoring the winter storm in our area. We are working with United Way of Eddy County to help those who are impacted by the weather. If you need help, we encourage you to dial 2-1-1 or 575-887-3504 to call United Way of Eddy County. Additionally, you can call the non-emergency number at 575-616-7155. Please reserve calling 9-1-1 for emergencies.

We encourage everyone to be prepared. Make sure you have enough water and supplies to last you multiple days in the event of a power outage. If needed, get your supplies soon before the weather worsens. Avoid the roads as snow accumulates.
