The community of Arthur is deep in the effects of the Morrill Fire. The fire has left a path of destruction on the land as well as in our hearts and minds. Arthur Fire Dept has our Critical Incident Stress management team coming on Wednesday, March 18, from 1pm to 5pm, and they will be available for anyone in the community who would like to visit with them. They bring with them tools for facing major crisis. They will available for one on one discussions, groups, families, however you feel the most comfortable.
In situations such as the one we are facing now, it is proven that speaking with someone and learning hope to cope with emotions is key to dealing with situations such as these.
Please, if you feel like you need to talk to someone, come to the Community Building on Wednesday and have a chat.

We are privileged to serve an amazing community! The generosity we have seen from people in our county and the surrounding area has been so appreciated! Thank you to all the people that jumped in to help on the fire line with ranch rigs and big hearts!
Thank you to everyone that has stepped up to donate!
At this point, if people could start considering monetary donations it would be greatly appreciated. We are starting to get overwhelmed with food and supplies, and this would help with necessities like fuel, tires, repairs, and equipment.

If you would like to donate funds, there is an account at Sandhills State Bank, or contact Tara Hanna at 308-778-7273.

If you would like to donate to help the local ranchers with fencing and feed supplies, contact Jason Christensen at Crusty’s Feed Store at 308-764-7090.

Again, thank you all so much for for your generosity during this difficult time! With true Sandhills grit, we are getting through this together!

Widespread critical fire weather conditions are expected Sunday across western and central Nebraska, with continued concerns Monday through Wednesday.

If your area is under a Red Flag Warning, it is strongly suggested that you do not burn piles or debris. Even one spark can cause a fast-moving wildfire.

Over 90% of wildfires in Nebraska are human-caused — which means we can make a difference. Please use extreme caution and help prevent the next fire.

PLEASE SHARE. Western Nebraska is looking at extreme fire conditions today and tomorrow. Refrain from parking hot machinery on tall vegetation, and watch out for dragging tow chains and underinflated tires. Be smart and safe!
