At Amish Education, you will have the opportunity to step into a 1920s one-room schoolhouse and learn more about how Amish children were educated, both historically and today.

It is a chance to experience history instead of simply reading about it.

The 1865 Moses & Barbara Yoder home is getting a new chapter.

As the oldest Amish home in Illinois, this historic house holds an important piece of the story of the Arthur Amish Settlement. Now, it has been relocated to a new 7 1/2 acre site just east of Arthur, and is being carefully restored so future generations can experience that story firsthand.

You can help make that restoration possible by purchasing a commemorative brick to be placed in the garden beside the Yoder home. Your brick can honor someone special, remember a loved one, or become a lasting part of this important piece of Illinois Amish history.
