Maine Democratic Equal Marriage We are Democrats from Maine who support equal marriage, and as such will be lending our voices to the passage of same-sex marriage in Maine in 2012.

As Democrats we strongly believe in individual liberty, personal responsibility and limited government. We believe in same-sex marriage *despite* being Democrats, we believe in it *because* we are Democrats. We believe that freedom means freedom from government interference and the
freedom of every person to pursue happiness, and that includes the freedom for
adults to marry anyone they wish, regardless of gender.
