I don’t know if I’d describe us as “the Super-Secret Mayor’s Club” or not… but this is a great piece from Next with Kyle Clark about the Metro Mayors Caucus and how we collaborate to support one another and solve regional issues.

The Metro Mayors Caucus in Denver, a discreet bi-monthly gathering of 38 mayors, tackles regional issues with a focus on collaboration over partisanship.

Another National Night Out is in the books! I wish I could have been at every one of the events being hosted across our city. Maybe one day when I can clone myself… Until then, my sincere thanks to the neighborhoods that hosted me from the southeast side of the city to the northwest. You’re all awesome Arvada. ❤️

Every once in a while, you get to have a really fun day. I got to spend the day with 11-year old Jonas, who won the opportunity to be “Mayor for a Day” at his school’s charity fundraiser. We had such a blast!

“Mayor Jonas” and I learned about the redevelopment projects on Ralston Road with the Arvada Urban Renewal Authority, toured the water treatment facility, and got a VIP look behind the scenes of City Hall with Arvada Police (including getting handcuffed by the Deputy Chief!) He helped me out with constituent emails; we visited the highest peak in Arvada (stunning views!); and he shared his insights into what he and his friends enjoy most about our local parks and recreation (target audience research right there!)

We concluded the day with him helping me to gavel-in last nights workshop and ordering the roll call to begin the meeting.

Thanks for hanging with me, Jonas. I think it was as much fun for me as it was for you.

Some of the best memories are made on Saturday nights… but be smart about it folks!

I was grateful to get to join the Arvada Police, State Patrol, JeffCo District Attorney’s Office, Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, and Arvada Fire at the multi-agency DUI checkpoint event earlier this evening. It was impressive to observe the level of planning and ex*****on that goes into these operations, and then the professionalism with which our officers conducted them. I also really appreciate you Arvada, the hundreds of you who waited patiently and engaged with understanding of the importance of this work.

We had a great time last night hosting our municipal and county partners from around Adams County and Broomfield in Arvada for the quarterly AdCo Regional Council of Governments Dinner.

DYK that about 2% of our city is in AdCo, south from Hidden Lake and east from Sheridan to Tennyson? We had a great time at 3 Garcias (my favorite patio in town!) with our extended “Adams Family.” We even had a rainbow!!🌈
