💙 September is NICU Awareness Month.💙

This month, we’re recognizing the resilient families who have navigated the uncertainty, challenges, and emotions that can come with having a baby in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

At Rocky Mountain Children’s Health Foundation, we’re proud to support NICU families with essential financial and nutritional support. Through Mothers' Milk Bank, we help provide access to donor human milk for babies, while our Patient and Family Assistance Program helps families navigate some of the financial challenges that can come with a child’s hospitalization.

We’re also celebrating the incredible NICU nurses who show up every day for these tiny patients and the families beside them. Their compassion, dedication, and commitment make a lasting difference.

Join us this month as we recognize NICU Awareness Month and the important work happening in NICUs every day.

💛 Sometimes, a change of scenery can make a big difference.

Maddie was ready for a break from being cooped up in her hospital room and was happy to be able to have some time in our Teen Lounge at HCA HealthONE Rocky Mountain Children’s—especially when that time included snuggles with Lemon! 🐾🐶

📺 Rebecca Heinrich, Director of Mothers’ Milk Bank, was interviewed on 9NEWS today as National Breastfeeding Month comes to a close.

Rebecca talked about the critical need for more human milk donors and how donating extra breast milk can make such a difference for babies in need.

About 1 in 10 babies are born prematurely, and human milk can provide the nutrition and protection these babies need to grow stronger.

If you have extra breast milk to donate, your milk could help give a baby what they need for the best start in life.💙

Last week, we shared that we’re seeing a significant increase in requests from families who need help putting food on the table. Behind every request is a parent trying to balance the financial strain of a child’s illness with being there for their child when they need them most.

One of our social workers shared what they see firsthand:

“Help with groceries is by far the #1 request we receive from parents who are struggling to balance finances and caring for their child's illness. Parents shouldn't have to have to choose between putting food on the table and missing a shift at work to tend to their child's medical needs, but that is too often the case.

The deep exhale a parent gives when RMCHF can provide a grocery gift card says more than words ever could. I wish every donor could witness the deep relief and gratitude a parent shares when they receive a grocery gift card.” —Hospital Social Worker

For a parent already carrying the weight of their child’s illness, knowing they can put food on the table can mean one less thing to worry about. That’s the difference your support makes.💙

🐾 August is National Dog Month! 🐾

This National Dog Month, we’re celebrating the incredible bond between kids and their Stink Bug dogs—and the comfort, companionship, and joy these special dogs bring. ✨

Life has been full of challenges for Hanora, who was born with a rare chromosomal anomaly. But everything changed when she met Dolli, her dog matched through the Stink Bug Project at Rocky Mountain Children’s Health Foundation. 🐶💙

“It’s just joy upon joy for Hanora, and that brings me joy,” her mom, Erica, shared. 🐾

To our incredible community of supporters, thank you for helping make these special connections possible and giving kids like Hanora the gift of a furry companion by their side.

🏓 What a fun day on the courts! 🎉

Our first-ever Pickleball Tournament at Chicken N Pickle was a blast! We loved watching teams battle it out, cheer each other on, and compete to see who would come out on top.

🏆 Congratulations to Chelsey’s Court Crew from Chelsey’s Legacy for taking home the win!

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to play, cheer on the teams, and support Rocky Mountain Children’s Health Foundation. Your participation helped make this event such a success and supports our mission to help children and families through some of life’s hardest moments.

We had such a great time and can’t wait to see everyone back on the court next year! 🏓💙

📣 WE’RE HIRING: CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Rocky Mountain Children’s Health Foundation is looking for our next Chief Executive Officer—a passionate, collaborative, and mission-driven leader who is ready to help guide our organization into its next chapter.

This search follows the resignation of Cathy Sandoval, who served as Executive Director for the past four years. We are grateful for Cathy’s leadership and contributions to RMCHF and wish her all the best in her next chapter.

As we look toward the future, we’re seeking a leader who is passionate about the work we do and committed to supporting children and families. At RMCHF, we support pediatric patients and their families as they navigate some of life’s most difficult medical challenges. We provide financial and emotional support to families through programs like Patient & Family Assistance, PAWS for RMC, the Stink Bug Project, and Mothers’ Milk Bank, helping ease the burden and allowing families to focus on what matters most: caring for their child.

As CEO, you’ll provide visionary, hands-on leadership while shaping organizational strategy, strengthening our team, supporting financial sustainability and fundraising, and representing RMCHF throughout the community. This is an opportunity to lead an established organization with a deeply meaningful mission, a committed team, and a strong community presence while helping drive continued growth and impact.

If this sounds like the right fit for you, we’d love to hear from you!

Apply today and help lead RMCHF forward! https://ow.ly/WyQS50ZESWN
