Foothills Marine Corps League Detachment 469 MARINES and FMF CORPSMAN - come join us! We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 1800 at the Arvada Amerucan Legion 60th/Jay St

With a membership drawn from across metro Denver and the Front Range, the Foothills Detachment offers a place for Marines, FMF Corpsmen, their families and other friends of the Corps to come together for friendship and service to our Corps and community. Some of our activities include supporting and helping maintain the Marine Corps Memorial in Golden, Colorado, sponsoring the Young Marine Program

, helping support Marines deployed around the world and working on the annual Toys For Tots collection.

Last week Foothills Detachment supported the Marine Memorial during the annual Memorial Day Ceremony. Weather was great and not hot.

Foothills Marines supported the annual awards ceremony for the Adams City High School Marine Corps JROTC.
Two cadets were awarded the League’s Distinguished Citizen Award.
Foothills Marines also helped by presenting awards from a few other veterans organizations that could not send a representative.
In general all cadets were recognized for their achievements, graduating seniors and leadership of the cadet company were recognized and stepped down while the new leadership was installed.
The Adams City MCJROTC program was shut down for a year or two due to lack of staff. SgtMaj Lemus has brought it back to life in past two years.

Foothills Detachment and Troop 564 supported the Marine Memorial for the President’s Birthday Challenge this weekend. Setting up the flags and other equipment for the event. The wind kept all the flags on full display while the President celebrated here 77th Birthday by reading the names of service members honored by the Memorial’s brick program.
