Grow Academy Arvin is an independent public charter school located in Arvin, California. The Academy currently has students enrolled in grades TK-8.

Grow Academy Arvin is the first charter school established under the Grimm Family Education Foundation (GFEF). GFEF established Grow Academy Arvin to provide a quality education to students while offering parents in the Arvin community a choice in their children’s education. The goals of both GFEF and Grow Academy are to provide a quality learning experience that benefits the students, the parents and the City of Arvin.

🌟 Staff Spotlight: Yolanda Beaza 🌟

Yolanda Beaza brings a smile, initiative, and a commitment to excellence to the Grow Academy Arvin café every day. Her positive attitude and dedication help create a welcoming environment for our scholars while ensuring they receive delicious, nutritious meals throughout the school day.

Yolanda is always willing to share ideas and look for ways to improve how our café serves students. She is especially thoughtful when it comes to scholars with special dietary needs, taking the time to consider options that allow every student to feel included and cared for at mealtime.

Her willingness to take initiative, contribute new ideas, and pay attention to the individual needs of our scholars reflects the pride she takes in her work. The care Yolanda puts into what she does each day makes a meaningful difference for our students and our school community.

Yesterday, our campuses were filled with smiling faces, happy reunions, and the excitement that only the first day of school can bring.

It was wonderful to welcome both our returning scholars and the newest members of the Grow family to Grow Academy Arvin and Grow Academy Shafter. These photos capture just a small glimpse of the joy, energy, and excitement we experienced throughout the day.

Thank you to our families for trusting us with your children and to our incredible staff for making the first day so special. We can't wait to see all that this school year has in store. Here's to an amazing year of learning, growth, and success!

🌟 Staff Spotlight: Jessica Gil, School Operations Manager 🌟

At Grow Academy Arvin, Jessica Gil is someone our staff can always count on. Whether she’s supporting daily operations behind the scenes, helping coordinate major school events, or stepping in wherever help is needed, Jessica consistently shows up with reliability, care, and a positive attitude.

Recently, she partnered with our operations team on multiple events, led a smooth and organized Picture Day through thoughtful communication and planning, and helped bring our Scholastic Book Fair to life by coordinating with teachers and teams from setup to breakdown. These are just a few examples of the many ways she supports our school community every day.

Jessica has truly stepped up in so many areas this year and continues to be a dependable presence for scholars, staff, and families alike. Her dedication, teamwork, and willingness to help wherever needed make a lasting impact across our campus.

Grow Academy Shafter (April 10) and Grow Academy Arvin (April 17) hosted incredible Career Days, giving scholars the chance to explore their futures.

With support from our guest speakers and visitors, students explored careers, asked questions, and made real-world connections.

🎓 College dreams are taking flight at Grow Academy Arvin!

This week, we welcomed California State University, Bakersfield, to campus to kick off the Runner Bound Program, a new college and career-readiness partnership for our 7th–8th-grade scholars.

Through Runner Bound, CSUB will host in-class workshops to help students explore college pathways, build confidence, and prepare for what’s ahead, with guaranteed admission to CSUB as part of the program!

And yes… we even had a special visit from Rowdy the Roadrunner 💙
We’re excited for what this partnership means for our scholars and their futures!

🌟 Staff Spotlight: Berenice Parra, Lead Office Specialist 🌟

If you’ve walked through our front office, you’ve likely been welcomed by Berenice Parra. Recently promoted to Lead Office Specialist, Berenice mentors colleagues and leads key initiatives that directly support student success.

Known for her trusted, warm presence and deep knowledge, Berenice is often the first person families, scholars, and staff turn to for support. She knows nearly every student and their parents by name and is always in your corner. A champion for attendance, she leads incentives like Find a Football and Turkey Trot, helping students improve their attendance.

A founding team member at Grow Academy Arvin, with more than 15 years of service, Berenice’s commitment and care are felt every day.💚
