A message from APEA Union President John Napolitani Sr.:

As Acting Mayor in neighboring Ocean Township, I know what it takes to be an effective leader. Not only is John Moor an effective mayor, he’s also a friend. John and his running mate, Jessie Kendle, who is a former employee of the Asbury Park School District, have worked tirelessly for the residents in the City of Asbury Park. John needs Jessie to continue the work they started for the betterment of the City of Asbury Park. I’m proud to support these two candidates for Mayor and Councilman.

For the Board of Education, this is a beyond important election. As the President of the Asbury Park Education Association, I have seen this school district deteriorate under the current Board leadership. It’s truly embarrassing how these elected officials feel about the employees who work their tails off for the students in the school district. They have not listened to one word we, as rank and file staff in the trenches day in and day out, have to say. It’s been truly disheartening to work here under the current climate.

The choice is simple as I urge you to cast your ballot for the Children First-Asbury Park, Remond Palmer, Victor Carre and Tracy Rogers. For the first time in the history of our Education Association, we formally endorsed candidates for the Board and we could not be happier. For the record, the other team flat out refused to attend the endorsement meeting as they did not want to meet with the teachers and support staff. The Children First Team demonstrated to my staff that they are willing to listen to our concerns, put the children first, and most importantly, look for fiscally responsible ways to steer the district in the right direction. Palmer, Carre, and Rogers are tired of the Asbury Park School District losing children in droves to charter schools, staff turnover at epic proportions, and most importantly, the children not getting the stability within the school system to make it a place they want to stay.

So on Tuesday, November 8, the choice is simple. Please cast your ballot and vote for the right candidates:

John Moor for Mayor
Jessie Kendle for Council
Remond Palmer - Board of Education
Victor Carre - Board of Education
Tracy Rogers - Board of Education
