Shadow of the City. Sold Out. The Center was there!

Tonight at The Stone Pony, we were proud to have a table representing The Center, our community, and our mission of Housing, Health and Hope. We hope you stopped by to say hello, learn more about what we do, and see how we’re making a difference right here in our community.

And yes… we heard a little rumor that Bruce showed up.

Unfortunately, we were a little too busy doing what we do best—talking about The Center, connecting with our community, and sharing our mission—to catch him!

Thanks to everyone who stopped by. And if you missed us tonight, you can always come see what The Center is all about.

Dolly’s life reminds us that where we begin does not have to determine where we end—and that our own experiences can inspire us to lift others up. Her legacy reminds us that kindness matters, compassion can change lives, and everyone deserves the opportunity to be treated with dignity.

At The Center, we believe in that same promise. Through our Housing First approach, we help people find the stability and dignity of a home before anything else. Through home-cooked lunches prepared and shared each day, we offer nourishment, connection, and a place where people feel welcome. And now, with the Asbury Park Library joining us once a month to help community members sign up for free library cards, we are opening another door—to books, learning, imagination, and possibility.

These may seem like simple things, but sometimes a home, a hot meal, a library card, or a caring person can be the beginning of hope. Dolly’s legacy inspires us to keep creating those moments—to empower, enrich, and embrace every person who walks through our doors, and to help ensure that no one is without the Housing, Health, and Hope they deserve.

We are very proud of Barbara Steward, the Center Creates artist, who got accepted to “Feast” the exhibit at the Oyster Point Hotel.

Opening Reception is September 11, so let’s all come out and join Barbara, The Center in AP, and Monmouth Arts for all the effort in community collaboration.

We’re excited to introduce the 45 Monmouth Arts members participating in our 2026 Annual Member Exhibit, FEAST, at the Oyster Point Hotel in Red Bank.

From indulgence and appetite to ritual, identity, pleasure, and longing, these artists bring their unique perspectives to this year’s theme. We’re thrilled to showcase such a diverse group of talented artists from across our creative community.

We owe an apology to Jimmy’s Cucina in Brielle.

For years, they’ve been supplying the most delicious food and pizza to our clients and residents here at The Center—and somehow, we’ve never given them the shout-out they deserve!

Pictured is a fresh mozzarella and tomato salad that’s making its way onto the cart and into some very happy bellies.

Their food is as amazing as their hearts. Thank you, Jimmy’s Cucina, for feeding our family and supporting The Center all these years. We appreciate you more than you know! 🍕

Others tried. Barbara succeeded! One throw and Michael went straight into the dunk tank!

We had way too much fun Saturday afternoon at Georgie’s for Community Karma’s Backpack Drive supporting Asbury Park's children. A great cause, great community, and apparently… some friendships were put to the test!

Everyday gets a fresh start with Chef Tom at The Center in Asbury Park. Summer means locally grown and we are grateful for the veggies coming from community farms.
